Re: thoughts on forum tag order
I was looking at some tag-point related code today and noticed that the actual forum tags themselves are different than the ones from the old forum. Here's the current list and point requirements:
250: Imperial Legend
220: Imperial Commander
195: Imperial Warrior
170: Imperial Fighter
145: Imperial Defender
125: Universal Legend
105: Universal Commander
90: Universal Warrior
75: Universal Fighter
62: Universal Defender
50: Galactic Legend
40: Galactic Commander
32: Galactic Warrior
25: Galactic Fighter
20: Galactic Defender
15: Solar Legend
10: Solar Commander
5: Solar Warrior
3: Solar Fighter
1: Solar Defender
0: Player
-1: Solar Waste Collector
-6: Galactic Space Junk Dealer
-13: Universal Tax Auditor
-21: Dirty Politician
-30: "Quantum Idol" Reject
And here's the list from the old forum:
316: Universal Conqueror
281: Universal Emperor
251: Universal King
231: Universal Lord
201: Universal Warrior
171: Galactic Conqueror
151: Galactic Emperor
124: Galactic King
101: Galactic Lord
89: Galactic Warrior
71: Solar Conqueror
56: Solar Emperor
43: Solar King
32: Solar Lord
23: Solar Warrior
16: Planetary Conqueror
11: Planetary Emperor
7: Planetary King
4: Planetary Lord
1: Planetary Warrior
0: Player
-1: Used Spaceship Salesman
-6: Galactic Lawyer
-13: Trans-Cosmic Proctologist
-21: Sub-Ethereal Talk Show Host
I always had the feeling something was different about the new system. Then I saw this today and thought "holy crap, the 'planetary' tag group!". I forgot all about those ones.
Anyway, the negative tags are also completely different and for each group we went from:
warrior -> lord -> king -> emperor -> conqueror
to
defender -> fighter -> warrior -> commander -> legend
What are you guys' thoughts on this? If you had to choose between the two lists, which would you prefer? If you didn't have to choose, would you combine the lists or make your own?
I know this isn't a huge feature or anything, but it's one of those little touches I always liked about IC. I want to promote tag points a little more around the forums as a way to reward contributing players. I think revisiting the list is a minor, but still important step in doing that.
