Parents in the US have run schools for ages. 
We dont rely on GOVT. to run our schools......until recently.

FOKKER what is the correlation between Home School and Religion ??

How about, just so most of you know, Most socialist Govts run their children through public education.
What correlation does this have ??

The Bronx New School was a program set up by neighborhood parents frustrated with the sub-par level of education their children were receiving.  With the help of a city Council member, and a state assemblyman, the managed to get a designation fro the School, PS-51 and then a waiver from having control of their school run by the district.  In other words, they were funded by the Dept. of Education, but not run by the dept.

Parents held committee spots to interview and hire teachers.  Another committee interviewed and hired administration.  The school secretary was a parent.  The School security officers were parents.  The asst. teachers or paraprofessionals were parents.

The school promised to take only 1/2 the funding per student that the other district schools received, as long as they run the budget.

The school excelled.  The Students performed brilliantly.  Most went on to top notch middle schools.....word caught on, and every parent in the district were trying to get their children in that school.  Siblings automatically got enrolled.

Its a model that has caught on, and many model schools like this have opened through out New York City.  Some are called charter schools.  Others are called community schools.   They are all funded by public money, but run on a cut budget by parents.

And, to think, they dont have any religious affiliations.

But, what if they did ??  What is the coorelation ?

Cant have evil religious people raising their children ??   
Unless they are radical Islam in the Middle East....that we just blame on America and Israel ??   Its their fault.

Also, I wonder if you are aware that in the UK all schools MUST hold an assembly every morning, and that during that assembly there MUST be prayer.
I mention this because it is relevant to understanding. You know, background information.

In the Socialist Republic of New York, there is no prayer in public Schools.

Funny,  I dont.  I find them to be lazy losers for the most part, that dont have the drive or ambition to make it in the public sector.  So they take a cush safe secure Union job, or gain tenure.....and all is good.

I fail to see how any of that is socialist. Everything you suggest indicates that the majority of professors are centrists and have relaxed moral standards. Socialism is equivalent to a mostly command economy. Where does it say that that view is mostly held by professors?

And yes religion is not taught in schools. Why should it be? Empirical data enables us to identify the means to realize a desired outcome. Prayer does not. When has prayer ever worked better than experience?
