Ok guys, i need your help, and hopefully its not all obese nerds out there!
I have always been exercising and doing sports, like 1-3 days a week, but since i started working last year, ive had significantly less time to play IC and exercise, and thus its going downhill!
Recently my girlfriend has taken to running, aiming for a marathon in a year or so, and the unthinkable scenario is getting close, she might actually outrun me!
Sooooooooooo.... I thought this would be a good project to keep me motivated! Help me out, comment on my training, give me tips, and yell at me if a skip training!
I mostly do running, but since i just bought a new roadbike, i try to get out on it as much as possible aswell. I will try to run 10km and time it within a few weeks, to get you an idea on where i stand. My long term goal is a half-marathon in october (i have got to beat my 3 younger brothers) and the said marathon in a year and a half.
So i will list my workouts, divided into weeks as i go through them, and give short comments:
Week 1:
Thuesday: Long ride by bike, 113km over 5 hours. At the end of the trip i swear i thought my legs were gonna fall off, and i had to make an emergency stop at a gas-station for a hot-dog and a bottle of Coke. Was good to get on my new bike and test it, however the seat is killing me and it really hurt my butt to get to work the rest of teh week.
Thursday: Easy running, 20 minutes of slow warmup and then 20 minutes on the lactic acid thresdhold. Legs still tired from the bikeride, but ok.
Sunday: Easy running, 20 minutes of slow warmup and then 20 minutes on the lactic acid thresdhold. Should really have managed a longer run, but the weather was snowstorm-ish and lack of motivation..
