Einstein, that is incorrect.  IT states that coverage can NOT BE DENIED.  It basically says that the Church can NOT DENY any member or supplicant due to religious beliefs of the church, to any member within a congregation, the rightt to use contraceptives.  Not ALL catholic churches or church members believe in denying the 'right to use' contraceptives.

You have to get new insurance to cover birth control for other people.
It may cost more.

My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
In this history of the United States, Friday, January 20, 2012 will certainly stand out as a moment of enormous peril for religious liberty. On that day, the Obama administration announced regulations that would require Catholic institutions to offer insurance programs providing abortifacients, sterilization, and contraceptive services. If these regulations are put into effect, the could close down every Catholic school, hospital, and the other public ministries of our Church, which is perhaps their underlying intention. What is perfectly clear is that this is a bigoted and blatant attack on the First Amendment rights of every Catholic believer. Under no circumstances, however, will our Church ever abandon our unshakable commitment to the Gospel of Life.
I therefore call upon all the faithful of the Diocese to vigorously oppose this unprecedented governmental assault upon the moral convictions of our Faith. Under the Constitution, no president has the authority to require our cooperation with what we consider to be intrinsic evil and mortal sin. We must therefore oppose by every means at our disposal this gross infringement on the rights of Catholic citizens to freely practice our religion. This country once fought a revolution to guarantee freedom, but the time has clearly arrived to strongly reassert our fundamental human rights. The church should never have gotten in bed with government on Obamacare.

They saw the potential of an increase from a huge source of money and puckered up, like any modern corrupt bureaucracy.

I'm not sure what you're defining as an enemy and their common enemy. I think you need to know your enemy!

The Wonderful Life reference sounded familiar. Coincidentally I've never watched Casablanca--But I DID DVR it a day or two ago. I'm pretty sure that won't help much though.

My problem with "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" in this context (as I said, no idea who and what you're referring to as each) is that we're usually talking about conceding most everything your enemy wants in order to beat the common enemy. Depending on what the hell you're talking about, may/may not be worth it.

its not really you, I just hear a LOT of that "Oho Catholic Church, you have it coming!" attitude.  Fact is 25% of the US population is (nominally) Catholic , and every Catholic diocese - that's the folks who answer phones and keep files and manage properties for the bishop - all of those outfits hire people who aren't Catholic.

So none of them qualify as religious organizations to Obama and none of them get the religious organization exemption, such as it is.

So you got 100% of the Church leadership of 25% of the United States bitching about Obamacare, is that helpful to you or would you rather snark about how stupid they have been (I'd agree btw but still it's still sore subject with many)

I was just remarking it was stupid of the church to get on board with Obamacare because it offered them a chance for cash. They're supposed to have values and thinkers that keep them above such garbage. I'm just saying they kinda asked for this, not that the USSA has the right to impose it on them.

Of course I agree that the church should be able to do whatever they damn well please. Nobody owes me or my women contraception. Obama/tyrants'/communists' position is that society owes women contraception--Even people who don't condone its use or have little/no use for it.

This is really bizarre to me because of how cheap it is. All this fuss because of a tiny minority of people who claim this is the cost that's breaking the proverbial camel's back? Or, more accurately, the slavemasters who've convinced these idiots that it is and that only they, the well-meaning slave master, can secure additional privileges for them.

There'd be no issue w/o government involvement in healthcare, making it so employer-based, mandating what we need to pay for and have covered. The whole thing is really bizarre to me, especially the communists who insist I'm an infant and they know better than me.
