I think your forgetting there's a whole 48 ticks before attacks can be used... On top of that the difference between expoing three and 6 was around 4.5k... Or less than two ticks income... The difference in my opinion was small considering the income gained from pop would be greater, and the loss of two ticks not all that costly...
More pop = more hf needed + more spent on exploring not in infra. And 27 hours from now, more lasers you need to build to protect yourself. It all equals less infra which is death.

Rookies, pfft. I started with the same exact start as last time there was no market. numbers are the same except i went to bed 2 ticks earlier this time ![]()
its funny though every round ppl make fun of the 6 eships senders. i think the only time u dont expo 6 is when u dont start with 6 eships...
first sd ss you start with 0 eships but 100k gc and skoe explored 6 planets and that was a failure.
to benefit from the beginnig of the bonus planets, 4 planets are needed.
but then building cfs on bonus planets would not be smart. so 6 planets are needed anyway as soon as possible. Casting SA is easy just before first buildings are done. so exploring 6 right away makes absolutely sense.
There are so many more factors that play into this...its not going to come down to who explored or didnt explore 6 by itself.
It also comes down to who is around you (aggressiveness, activity, skill) map position and what buildings you are building. If you make small mistakes in a 1 person fam it can really end your round.
So lets just sit back and see what happens ![]()

In SDSS Construction bonus (overall, not start specific) is more important. My point of view.
Ok, so correct me if I'm wrong, but you guys that explored didn't wait until you had the stuff saved to fb a planet? What do you do with empty planets? They just grow pop and eat all your food so you starve! Noooooobs.

Will be fun to see where people are at during 2nd wave of explos that's less than a day away
Imo 6 is the best, as u want to specialize as much as possible on the planets
Youll need 1 endu planet and 2 iron planets at least imo, and then u need room for more CFs aswell.
Im guessing thoose that went with less planets went with atleast one endu and one iron, imo the risk for failure is large with that kinda strategy

Pop always gives you more than it costs so dont bring that up as your point here. Also to go further on the fact 'not able to fb one planet'... People who planned a bit should know its perfectly possible. Also it 'only' costs you 3k more than exploring 4 instead of 6 which was suggested a bit earlier in this thread.
Exploring 6 is not nubish if you do everything according to it. But you cant forget to build farms like this noob did (points at himself) ![]()
I completely agree with Noir, Orion and Hydro.
the pop of 6 additional planets give gc. 50gc at the start up to 2400gc when maxed out....
the first 28 ticks it gives about 2800gc. (5000 additional pop)
needs 5 farms. which costs 800gc, 15iron and 5 endu. so 2800gc is a lot more than that.... ![]()
As well higher total exploration costs has to be taken into consideration if not exploring 6 at once.
But of course this is only about infra building. there are lots of other factors that will decide the game...

Only need to do a little planning to cover your food needs. I make a surplus of 2k food a tick currently. Takes forever for pop to grow in with a pop bonus. at -30% which i'd assume all customs have food won't be a hinderance (unless you forget to make HFs...
)
Only error i had so far was going to bed and forgetting to build the last tick before i went to bed. Set some of my iron back 20 hours (sleep hours+con hours) but its only around 30-40 iron difference overall (hopefully
)
