1. Community is the primary reason I play. I built some good relationships in the 10+ years (off and on) that I have played and I still enjoy talking to those people.
2. The current Developer team is doing a great job at trying to help grow this game.
I know a lot of talk has gone on about what changes should be made, what should be added and all of that stuff, but I actually never see a poll put out for the players to vote on what they would like to see and would not like to see. Doing this may set things in stone to go ahead and push forward with a lot of the ideas brought forward.
This game could be really good again (people playing) if some things were done graphically, and promotionally i believe.
Riddler, you hit the nail on the head.
This game is fun, but it also feels like a game made when it was. It's got a great community of 'hardcores' but the problem is that it never really seemed to be advertised. It really never was 'out there.'
This is a better situation than a 'new game' has; you have loyal fans, who will join whatever game it's called whenever it's released, if only to see Primo's sig for the billionth damn time.
That said, imo, this game doesn't need a huge overhaul, it just needs new features. Why buy a VIP when all you really get is access to a 'hardcore' system you may never like playing in, and one useful in-game tool?!
Some additions I'd love to see:
1. VIP's have the ability to 'create' a game, once ever 6 mos, for up to 50 others.
2. VIP's have ability to access any amount of VIP games, normal accounts are capped at say one game.
3. The game gets boring when you've built all you can and are waiting on fleets to arrive. Speeding up a tick isn't likely, so more things to do, just random fun things, like say a minigame where you have a system's worth of planets and once a day you can 'choose one' and, for that day, you get a fun bonus, weather it's a population growth bonus, or a research bonus. It'd just give more stuff to do instead of 'boredom time.'
4. Bring back the old forums. NAO!
5. Make fighting over a planet more interactive. Atm it's just 'overwhelm the enemy,' but if you made it so that when you drop in to attack, you got a little screen where you had to move your troops, some to kill the portal (if there is one), others to take out lasers. You can set this before, but it'd make it more tactical than 'I have 100x your army, I win!'
Please disregard the post above, the person who typed it is mentally insane and has three heads. Yes, three.
