Topic: Obscure Horror Movies

One of my favorite things is when I find some obscure horror movie I had never even heard of and either enjoy watching it or laugh my way through it. Unfortunately that well runs dry fairly often and I haven;t run into much lately. I'll toss a few out there for other people who enjoy a similar indulgence, and hope someone can reciprocate. PLEASE, ***No Spoilers***.

Header
Also known as ""Edward Lee's "Header"", this is an indie horror movie shot on video. It is based on a novel by grotesque shock horror author Edward Lee which focuses on backwoods hillbillies exacting revenge on each other in the most disgusting way possible, and the BATF Agent whose own deviant practices put him on a collision course with said hillbillies. My wife and I rented this having no clue what it was about, as the description on the DVD cover had about as much info as I have just offered. Once we got about 15 minutes into the movie and it was revealed exactly what the subject of the movie was (in a very graphic scene), I was blown away. I couldn't believe someone had made this movie, and that i was actually watching it. Later I read that even the author of the book it is based on had said nobody would ever be able to make it into a movie, because of the subject matter. This movie was released on the festival circuit in 2006 but it took nearly 3 years to find a distributor, certainly in no small part due to how disturbing it is.

Lowlights: Some bad actors/acting in many scenes, low quality cinematography.
Highlights: For a B-Grade flick, the special effects are absolutely top notch and ultra realistic.
Late senior character actor Dick Mullaney as the over the top legless hillbilly grandpa pervert who sets the entire plot into motion. I wish he was my grandfather.

The core joke of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is that of course no civilization would develop personal computers with instant remote database recovery, and then waste this technology to find good drinks.
Steve Jobs has ruined this joke.

Been dreaming, I've been waiting, To fly with those brave ponies
The Wonderbolts, their daring tricks, Spinning 'round and having kicks
Perform for crowds of thousands, They'll shower us with diamonds
The Wonderbolts will see me right here at the Gala!

I've actually seen that, and i also thoroughly enjoy the remake. The guy who is trying to look and sound like Vincent Price reprising his role does an amazing job.

He is in a legit horror movie called "andre the butcher", playing andre the butcher. Being that andre the butcher wears a welding mask (why? I don't know, he is supposed to be a butcher.) I am pretty sure he is body doubled in 90% of the scene that don't show his face. The scenes with him eating his own scabs are pretty graphic and the fx are disgusting.

Yeah Geoffrey Rush is an Epic actor smile
Was really disapointed that they missed out the line from the original that was like "when you started this little game of murder you forgot one thing, that I was playing aswell"

I laughed soooo hard, vincent price is kewl smile

Im not a huge fan of horror movies tho, I get scared easily ha ha, But I think thirteen ghosts is pretty good, but Ive been told that I only like it because I've always been a fan of collecting things smile

you might want to look for tales from the crypt too.
Dunno if you know it, but its an old series of short scary stories. some of them are pretty funny tbh tongue

well I hope that helps a little, If I think Of anything else I'll let you know

Didn't realize that was Geoffrey Rush, He was great in Quills.

I've also seen 13 ghosts a few times. I've also seen many or most episode of tales from the crypt, and it's not old to me because I am 36! Serials do a great job with short horror stories. I love twilight zone, tales from the darkside, night gallery, and monsters.
