Topic: The Californian Chicken Crisis
I have been sitting on this egg for a while, wondering if anyone *cough*Chris*cougn* would bring it up... but alas, that egg never hatched.
California, in a fit of irrationality, decided that chickens were uncomfortable in their coops and cages. So they decreed a much larger size would be needed.
Needless to say it was as smart as putting a headless chicken in charge of guiding air traffic control.
One company with 60,000,000 chickens determined compliance would cost $240,000,000.
Since when did California think chickens laid golden eggs? Silly goose.
So what will the result be for this company?
It hopes the law might be restored to the way it was... but if not.. then will it be cost effective enough to move to another State, or will they simple slaughter the birds?
Mind you moving requires purchasing land, preparing the infrastructure, and then the transport costs.
I rather think KFC and Popeyes will have a 'one year only' super sale.
Smart of California? Or stupid?
My vote is stupid. Chicken farms outside California will grow, California will kill its own successfull businesses, and increase prices for its population. I call it short-sighted and ignorant.
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)
