Topic: My Health Care Plan

1) No insurance company can refuse someone except for a conviction for fraud against that company.

2) All insurance companies must have set prices, though they may charge more for long term conditions or certain risk factors. Prices can be adjusted once every 4 years. Prices must be accessible by the public

3) No trade barriers. Anyone can purchase insurance from any State.

4) Tort reform as well.

5) Pharmacies and medical equipment manufactorers are barred from providing direct or indirect incentives to doctors.

6) Allow hospitals to show a method to train people to procedures or methods, or whatever so that highly skilled non doctorates could take over some responsibilities as well.

7) Health Savings Accounts roll over.

8) All Government Health programs offer an alternative Health Savings Account system where you get a fixed amount a year and can choose your insurance coverage from a private insurance company.

There.... My 8 point healthcare routs Obamacare handsdown.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

What no debate? I tell myself I can do better than Obama and no one refutes my ideas? I win easily?

Re: My Health Care Plan

shouldn't be any mass health plan for anyone yikes

Assuming we had to have a mass plan for everyone, I would advise people to look at the Massachusetts system.  Right now, if you are working and making an "ok" living with a lot of student debt you might get a salary with a benefits plan if you are very lucky and at the top of your class.  Your benefits plan is the worst piece of crap there is with a $5,000 deductible because most companies who offer benefits are only giving the super saver plans.  Instead, the people who choose not to work (not the people who can't work (( for legitimate reasons))  or won't work for minimum wage) get the commonwealth health care plan which is far superior to any plan given away to most educated workers  (unless you are union and get paid six figures for doing nothing all year around get amazing benefits).

Otherwise, sorry for my rant Flint.  I assume you are saying this is your idea of a health plan for the masses if we have to have one.  I agree with number 2 about risk factors and agree with number 3, 5, 7 and 8.  I disagree with 1 on the limited basis that 2 can cancel it out.  Don't make a government mandate saying you [edit] have to sell something to people after the housing fiasco the Clinton administration got us in.

As to 4, I agree tort reform has to be done but it's simply not realistic.  The only way you would get tort reform is if you were succesful in changing the healthcare system so i'll curb that until that happens.  I'm not sure also what you mean by tort reform but there are a lot of caps on damages right now against doctors and charitable corps and others.

As to 6, I don't think I could agree with you there.  It's not rocket science to take vitals or perform simple tests but to enact that change you would be required to go against a lot of hospital policy etc and it would stir up a ton of negligence claims.

So I told the cop, "No YOU'RE driving under the influence... of being a JERK!"

Re: My Health Care Plan

DP this is not forced on anyone. Anyone can choose to not get insurance... just the insurance companies have to allow anyone who wants in on any plan they offer that the person qualifies for.

I imagine to prevent people from getting insurance only when they need it they will do like auto companies do and reduce the cost with how long straight in a row you have been insured and have it at a very jacked up price for people without insurance for a while.

That and a page from phone companies and require a contract for two years minimum.
