True, more than 10 is not nesessary, maybe even 8-9 but not less

well didn't last round end with 14 fams and 16 players each = 224 players with 8 person fams that can make 28 families
Maybe you should make hills on 4 corners of the sector instead of just the centre. You have to win all 4 to win KOTH. Will probably take 2-3 mths to finish round before one fam is dominant enough to win. ![]()
well that would have the same effect as the current layout exept sme families would have a huge distance advantage. and remember the sides roll over so the hills would still be right next to each other.

this I posted in ideas and in 1st Koth thread, about a good setup for Koth:
"A good adition imo would be to allow alliances, quartet alliances to be exact, and allow ocasionally ONLY permanent naps (so people will think it twice before signing).
Also the map could be bigger yes, 4 sectors and a 1 hill in the middle of each sector would be nice (so 4 hills only to win the game).
Then 4 fams equidistantly placed in each sector, that makes a total of 16 fams x 15 players in each fam.
The alliances should work like this -> you cannot ally fams in your sector, your 3 allies must be placed in the other 3 sectors (1 ally in each). This would turn the competition in a 4vs4vs4vs4 all the way long, and the winner is a quarter alliance (not a single family) when the 4 hills are controled by people in a same alliance."

Put one system/fam 5 ticks (or so) from EVERYONES HS, only have like 5-10 planets in that system! That means everyone has equal chance to own part of the Hill, also means it promotes War, eat or be eaten! Putting the Hill systems all within a tick of each other is what makes it hard if a decent fam digs their heels in there.
I agree with Render and Polwy that would be fun......
And to make things more interesting, allies are alrdy set, there is no choice who u ally.... so the top fams dont ally each other and go for a easy win.
