Re: Illegal Alliances

as someone else said, if your in a small family, and your being attacked by a much bigger one, would it not be fair and appropriate to form alliances with other smaller fams who were also attacked by them to seek revenge?

i really don't get this rule, the unexpected is supposed to be apart of fights, and it seems your trying to take away that "unexpected" aspect.

Re: Illegal Alliances

it would never work lol, the 4 top fams would just create a big alliance and kill everybody under those rules and win every round, wouldn't that be fun

Re: Illegal Alliances

ok i didn't read all of the posts but i have a question. in this scenario two families are NAPed in game 24,48h whatever and a 3rd family makes an agreement to portal up in one of the NAPed families in order to attack the othe NAPed family. is this IA, i was assume, and in this situation would it be ok to break your NAP agreement to clear the 3rd family from the others core?

Re: Illegal Alliances

i would clear that intruder in other fam cores and pass that planet to your nap fam

...everything you can do i can do better...

Re: Illegal Alliances

can't trade planets with a ingame NAP family

Re: Illegal Alliances

maybe i explained it wrong. the two PNAP families are not what im questioning. its the agreed expo, portal, laser of the 3rd family in the 2nd families core to attack the 1st family. making the agreement between the 3rd and 2nd family a IA IMO. but my opinion doesn't change rules so... my other point is. if the 1st family clears the 3rd family from the 2nd families core. then the 1st family cant hand that planet over to the 2nd family because of the ingame PNAP does not allow attacks between those families. this is probably a break in a claus of the PNAP.

Re: Illegal Alliances

I see your point but this is my 1st round leading with new system in place. tbh im not even sure how it works.

Re: Illegal Alliances

in any case there are ways to abuse this system and always will be probably but would it be vaible to put an option in the PNAP page to allow attacks for 1 tic or 1 planet to allow for swaps?

Re: Illegal Alliances

yes it would be an idea if it can be coded.

Re: Illegal Alliances

and the scenario was about something i saw last round

Re: Illegal Alliances

Say I'm in family A and i get in a fight with my leader. I go and tell family B where families A DS are, how much fleet they have, who makes what resources.

Is this grounds for IA? if not it should be.

ya yahya yaya its your own family but what if your lead attacker goes rogue... hard to kill him off.  whats done in this situation?

Re: Illegal Alliances

its definitely an IA lol

Re: Illegal Alliances

You can't put the rogue tag on him if he's the leader. :P

But to answer the question, coordinating/sharing info with anyone outside of your alliance is classed as an illegal alliance.

If your leader is breaking the rules you can get him blocked, but if he isn't just vote a new leader in and mark the old leader as rogue.

Re: Illegal Alliances

in the hypothetical situation it was him getting in a fight with his leader and then going to other families with information X(

If It's an active an organised fam, It's easy. But if you're in a mid to low pack fam, by the time you get most of the fam online and aware of what's going on, the rogue could have done quite a bit of damage.

Re: Illegal Alliances

The issue is, everybody knows illegal alliances are going on all the time and there is nothing being done by mods to stop them.  Some mods who play even participate in them.  Thus, eventually, when people figure out what's really going on - that IC is basically a popularity contest - they leave the game.

The top families participate in illegal alliances (or illegal agreements which are in effect alliances), and the small families, usually new players, don't stand a chance.

>>>>You can't expect a rule to be followed if that rule is unenforceable.<<<<

If this game is to expect any future growth in players, it has to solve the issue so that illegal alliances and making illegal agreements are either decriminalized or enforced.

To decriminalize it, just take away all napping / pnapping etc. - I don't think this game will last much longer if you choose this option.

The best way for the rule to be enforced is for there to be built into the game concept a self-regulating system whereby the more honorable-acting fams tend to be the more successful fams.

My fee for such a consultation will be 49% ownership of this website.
