are they really THAT BAD?.............
what is it ?
Depends on tattoo as well as workplace.
I think it's okay if you work in a tattooparlour...
i have a panther on a flaming dagger on my formarm.. that has been fine for 4 years.. now there changing there policy and i can no longer have it showing in 1 of the many stores i go into .........
juts wanted other people opinon on how bs or not it is
as ima probally complain about this tell i get differnt stores or get fired..
I would request a transfer to a different store as the simplest way out for them
If its a client then you don't have to follow their policy but they don't have to hire you either; transfer solves that one.
if its your own company policy then complain that long sleeves are a hazard and ask for a transfer, if they can't read between the lines complain to OSHA about long sleeves
i am going to ask for a tranpher the next time i go into work. it is NOT my company policy it is only 1 of the stores i go into that just CHANGED there policy and are now complaining about it... and we are not alowed to wear sweatshirts in there store eather so i cant put that on and take it off when i go to the other stories that i have to go to in a day.. and i cant just put something over it becauase it has to match a "dress code" ..........
Thank You

What!?!?! How dare that store not want it's patrons to look like they are straight out of prison!
and what world do you live in that only people that are in jail are the only ones with tats now days?...
long sleeves can catch in moving machinery
better get a waiver
or ask your boss to charge for more insurance ![]()

lol nope
.
anyway I've got plenty of tattoos, and The only time I'm not allowed to show them is if I'm working a public faced job. all other times its fine.
If you have an offensive tattoo, then You shouldn't be allowed to show it off. But definetly You should be fine with them.
What annoys me is the complete intolerance for piercings. I've got 12 of them and every morning before I go to work I have to sit and take them all out, then Every evening when I get back I've got to sit and put them all back in. Its fairly annoying ;_;
tattoos can be classed as racial discrimination. numerous ethnic groups regard tattoos to be a core part of their cultural identity and as such refusing to emply someone on the grounds of a tattoo can be challenged as discriminatory.
Your's is a prison Tat isn't it? I've heard of the group. The flaming panthers. They are a group of black power homos. They don't tolerate white people or tacky drapes....

It's just that certain public jobs depend on how you look.
Most people don't mind tattoo's and/or piercings, but there will always be those who connect them to criminal activity. And there's always parents who think teachers and child care workers shouldn't work with those extra's in/on their body's. As children may say these people as rolemodels and some parents will always be conservative.
Piercings in my opinion are not as big an issue, as they can be taken out when you grow older and weary of them or it just complicates jobsearch. It's one of the reasons I never decided to get a tattoo. Some of the jobs I desire in the future, mostly front office jobs, will be much harder to get with a tattoo on my forearm. Plus, when I look at older people with tattoo's, it's just embarassing.
So, it's still a freedom of choice to get a tattoo or piercing, just don't complain when people take offense to them in the workplace. Get a back office job and you can do whatever the hell you want.
I read an article about a stewardess who got fired for having millimetered her hair. It's complany policy that extravagant hairdo's are not allowed. Thinking ahead is quite normal here. If you desire a job, you should sometimes be prepared to make sacrifices.
i should get a tattoo of a butt with a butt tattoo, on my butt

The only thing i see wrong with this is the fact that for the job that i have now.. its been no problem for the last 5 years and now its " a problem" to one of the places i servce and none of the other places.. some of the other places YES make there own emplies cover them up but not there venders......
If i dont speak and hardly see any of the public it should not be anywhat way shape or fourm a problem ![]()
its perfectly understandable that a company doesn't want criminal looking people seen entering or exiting their building, even if they don't chat with their customers...
i think he delivers soda
Just cover 'm up when you go to that place?
Customer's always right.
maybe you could use a bandage thingy
(not the sticky ones, lol, the ones you wrap around yr arm)
i saw sme ppl doing that at airport security
someone said tattoos are a core thing to thei ethnic/cultural identity, the same can be said about piercings ![]()
and erm..policy is..policy, however stupid or bs it may be...we re slaves of our paycheck afterall..
