6 fams - Size to be determined
2 tri-alliances
a pre-designed map: 3 fams on each side. Each fam is surrounded by 20 systems in the middle of the map there are 40 systems... GO GO GO

Maybe a combination of a couple of the ideas, like East Vs West king of the hill (as an elimination round) or something...
thusfar the 'king of the hill' in the top post looks most interesting

yeah, gotta have no naps tho. possibly have 1 moderator/fmod in every fam too as a non-playing observer to minimise cheating potential?

Finally an oppurtinuty for players to put forward their ideas and have a chance of getting implemented.
I suggest a round where the goal is not gain as much NW/score/planets as possible but the following:
- Amount of captured planets decides the winner, in this round I suggest only naps after war and no alliances.
So if the family that has captured most planets during war is the winner at EOR. To prevent farming, put a maximum of 33% planet loss for a family then automatic pmode.
It might be a lot of work to check the family news of 20 families, but if we have in total around 10 families, one mod checking fam news every day and keeping track of planets captured.
How about Imperial Savings and Loan?
Have a 4-week galaxy where attacks/ops are disabled for the first 3 weeks of the round. Then you just have one super-explosive EOR.
I like the king of the hill but feel all have a good potential to be fun.
Americas vrs Euro would be very interesting.
As many fams of 25-30 as possible and each family gets say 3 leaders, leaders would be mod dice rolled together or something, then they pick a big fam each, i dunno i just think the huge fam idea sounds amazing

a flag is a system
mod will pick certain systems that are important enough to be fought over and assign some point score per system taken over by a majority by a family rather than judge the outcome of the round solely on nw, size, score etc
whoever owns the system by a certain time gets the points, flags keep changing and whoever rules the system by a majority gets the points, family with most points win
can be tracked in forum and added up so no changes will have to be made to the game

Have the "flag" as a DS system moving from system to system and it be possible for other fams to see it.... move tick by tick.... and you have to intercept it and destroy it .... first fam to have it reach their HS wins lol
