Topic: New competition galaxy idea thread

we are currently trying to set up another icpgish competition galaxy, however the old icpg format is getting a bit old and stale so we are trying to come up with a few new gimmicks or possibly something entirely new.


ICPG classic with a twist

1 of my personal idea is having the same icpg drafting format however the leader sign up will be in pairs. so each leader sign up will be for 2 person (eg whiteshadow and archangel, glue and gxreborn . the draft process will be the same (icpg draft is proven to be more entertaining than the actual round) except that the paired leader will draft 1 set of players, when the drafts are done the pair can break the set of players drafted into 2 fams however they want (possibly even the fam size eg: a set of 16 players can be broken into 2 fams of 8 or a fam of 12 and a fam of 4.). the winner will based on the total size of the allied fams.



GREED

joors idea have a size/nw goal and which ever fam reaches it and holds it for x ticks will be winner
drafting style with be icpg


King of the hill
-------------------------------------
icpg draft style, after fams been allocated to the map x amount of cluster system will be marked and shown. an eor date will be set and at eor fam that control the most planets in those marked systems will be the winner




so if anyone have ideas on a competition galaxy you are free to post here, this thread will also give us an idea of the interest level in another competition galaxy after the last ICC.

King of the hill idea.

Galaxy size: 4 families
Empires per family: 30
System count: 125 (avg. 21 planets per system: 2625 planets total)
Allies: None
Market: None
Naps: None

First family to reach 1,000 planets wins the round.

It's more about the King of the hill idea, not about family size, etc.

i like it and add some of the idea attila made in the idea forum

but WS will never team up with fartangle.

but i wud go against him so i can once 4 all show he sucks and WS rules, hell i wud even let him have the great n00blio and argannon for free before picks are made to give him a chance lmao tongue

yeah i posted something similiar in Ideas.

Personally i think 30 players WOULD work. it would force you to distribute your vice leader tags with actual positions in the fam.

Having someone lead eco for the fam would really see if they knew what they were doing when having to deal with multiple moving parts.

the military side would be challenged quite a bit as well.

i think a 30 person fam would work great.

military would suck, everything would go to one attacker (especially if it was hc), we had a draco round like this and there were just 2 fams, we killed each other as soon as we could, jumped straight into the kill a couple days in, barely anyone did anything.

there could be a special team for countries with only one player.. we could call it.. the UN or whatever.

We could change it from being HC in order to keep there from being just one attacker. I agree that would be an issue. However, i think the idea of 30 man fams is a drastic change to what we are used to and could be a very good thing.

in reality would king of the hill work? people nap like crazy nowadays.. I really like the idea... but I don't know how practical iy would be.. but if we voted... i'd still vote it to give it a try

I guess it would be no NAPs nor Allies, so I think it would be great, Plus we could (IC Community) vote on who the Leaders would be, ofc they would have to put thier names forward to WANT to lead, but this way we could get some cool match-ups too.

Some leaders apply, u make a poll, the 2 leaders with most votes choose their players in the pool of players that applied.
