Re: Christian Community

Hehe, it would be excellent if God looked like that big_smile one thing, reading through here, that did strike me, was joe4444 saying that non-believers' beliefs are 'shameful'.
As a Christian, I would personally not make this sort of comment. In my life I have met both Christians whose conduct towards others disappointed me and made me almost ashamed to share their faith, and atheists who have really inspired me and were truly great people. Carrying the title of 'believer' or 'non-believer' does not automatically sort you into 'good, moral person' or 'bad, evil person'. Nobody has the right to denounce anyone else' faith (or non-faith), or to thrust their own faith upon them. The average atheist is just as intelligent as the average religious follower, and so equally capable of making their own judgment of how they wish to live their life. I respect atheists and want to hear their views, and I hope for the same treatment.
A harmonious respect for everyone's beliefs begets respect and moral, considerate behaviour, not forcing a religion's morals upon atheists.

Confirmation is for sissies and altar boys.

"how come it is blasphemy to use a metaphor to try and explain the omnipotence of GOD"

It was a joke hon wink
I always found it sad that the majority of the people can't laugh with their religion once in a while..

On the contrare, and I'd like to know why you feel that I do not have that right?  I see no passage that says I am supposed to think equally of a nonbeliever that I do of a believer.  That is one of those prejudices that is Biblically justified.

> "The average atheist is just as intelligent as the average religious follower, and so equally capable of making their own judgment of how they wish to live their life."

True, from a secular perspective.  But they are not equally capable of making a judgment of how to live their lives that I respect.  Granted, I can't tell them what to do and I understand that.  I can cooperate with unbelievers on a social scale, but deep down inside I do not respect them in the least, and despise the way they live, even if I won't say it to their face.

If you're going to tell me I'm wrong for that opinion, please provide KJV 1611 scripture to back it up.  Otherwise, I see it as nothing but your own opinion of right vs. wrong and I refuse to reform to that belief because you refuse to open your mind to other people's opinions like mine.

Quite honestly, a lot of what has been said here has greatly offended me as a Christian.  This thread seems, more or less, designed to take Christianity & God light, or as though a joke, and it should not be.  God is holy and sovereign.  Christianity is a faith we live by, not go to church once a week and act differently at all other times.  The actions of a Christian church are sacred, and it seems as though they are nothing but mocked in this thread by most of the people posting here (not all, and those who arent know who I am talking about).  I am mainly referring to the creator of this "Christian's Community" thread, who has himself used abbreviations for profanities throughout this thread.

Re: Christian Community

I will not answer beaners because he did not provide the entire quote of what I said.  He merely picked apart the words he wanted to use in an attempt to make it displayed that I made stupid, uneducated comment.

because according to joe4444 that is a shameful thought, and you are not so much embracing sin but allowing it to thrive.

Way more than 4 billion people.  Its sad that so much of the world thinks that way.

Btw, I answered that because you did not copy & paste parts of my comments to misinterpret what I said, in that post.

"On the contrare, and I'd like to know why you feel that I do not have that right?  I see no passage that says I am supposed to think equally of a nonbeliever that I do of a believer.  That is one of those prejudices that is Biblically justified."

How do you know that your interpretation of the bible is correct? there are many christian beliefs who heavily rely on the interpretation of the same bible. Where does your hubris and vanity come from? How do you know you're right, and on top of that have the right to condemn other people to be "evil". Doesn't sound really christian of you Joe...
Another piece of text of you strikes me:

"I can cooperate with unbelievers on a social scale, but deep down inside I do not respect them in the least, and despise the way they live, even if I won't say it to their face."

For me, this sort of means that you need a psychiatrist, Joe. You really seem to have issues. Other people probably said this before to you on these forums, but I'm dead serious.. Joe, it sounds like you have a disturbed social behaviour lad..

"The actions of a Christian church are sacred, and it seems as though they are nothing but mocked in this thread by most of the people posting here (not all, and those who arent know who I am talking about)."

Now, A christian church doesn't equal yours, how is that combinable with your idea that only your interpretation (the one of your christian group, to be more exact) is correct?

Anyhow, if you don't accept my advice, please Joe, don't move too far, all you'll see is sadness, misery and lost souls..

Well thank you for accepting you were wrong.

WFS, how do you know that History is correct?  there are many historical beliefs who heavily rely on the interpretation of the same history books.  And how do you know that Science is correct?  there are many scientific beliefs who heavily rely on the interpretation of the same science books.  And how do you know that Math is correct?

you see where I'm going with this, right?  That is how your argument sounds...

> "How do you know you're right, and on top of that have the right to condemn other people to be 'evil'."

I'm right when I follow the scripture.  And of course the Bible is always right, despite the fact that you feel it is not because lots of people have believed it and interpreted it in their own way.

> "Other people probably said this before to you on these forums, but I'm dead serious.. Joe, it sounds like you have a disturbed social behaviour lad.."

Nope, your the first and only person WFS.

Re: Christian Community

"there are many scientific beliefs who heavily rely on the interpretation of the same science books.  And how do you know that Math is correct?"

sorry, but that's rubbish. science and maths rely on theories and evidence. the books document them with an expanation of how they were made or discovered so that you can do or discover it for yourself.

I was using a metaphor that means God is watching us. You've heard this, there's a toilet on the roof.

Nope, your the first and only person WFS.

Joe4444 people have been too embarrased to raise this concern with you.

Re: Christian Community

really, joe is the type of christian that goes against everything I believe in. Where does God say in the bible that we as christians are to place ourselves above anyone who do not follow our beliefs? Joe your philosophy on our religion preaches anger and to an extent hate. Seriously, I pray that you find it in your heart to accept everyone as an equal because your morals are seriously misguided.

Sex without the e is still SX!

peace out boys yikes

i love you all!

Re: Christian Community

Joe4444 is a sad sad man who has fallen into the trap of hating everyone whos not like him, and taking a morale highground becuase oh the way he lives his life, which is in more sin then most non believers i suspect.

Re: Christian Community

joe could you tell us what branch of christianity you are a part of please?
