Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

>>Sarah Palin
The poster child of Real Change we can believe in, she has got the most energetic base of anyone right now. She also has the most effect upon policy for someone not in office. Her Facebook account has more power than the majority of Senators ever will have. The Liberal Press hates her with a passion, and Dems fear her. Her only baggage is McCain, the man who pushed her to the spotlight.<<

Please tell me you are not that blinded by your partisanship to see what she truly is -

I was impressed with Palin at the GOP Convention -- But was obvious in the following the years; that the speech she delivered then, and there was careful planned, since then that woman has not opened her mouth with out forcing me to concede to the notion that women should never be given political power, she is beyond feeble minded, clearly has an agenda, and poses a bigger risk than anyone with it.

Simply a younger, and more blue collar version of H. Clinton.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

None of the above.  Each of them do not represent the wants and needs of the american people as a whole.  Not one of them.  And each of them have been tied to any number of scandals over the years.  Or shot down regulation of wall street or banks in general.  Sarah Palin was under investigation for accepting gifts for votes when she was Alaskan governor ($30,000 dollar deck on her home for mineral rights inside alaskan wilderness preserves), so there is no way in HELL i'd vote for her for any nomination.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

Oh come on, you can't get a government that serves the people. You can get a government that does not serve the short-sighted interests of private interests. You can get a military government that serves itself, and is so powerful that it is free to invest in the state holistically rather than the private interests who have money.

Money is what destroys a Republic.

"Well McCain was supposed to be our 'middle' while the extremely hard left guy got elected."

America doesn't know any hard left. Defenatly not in one of the two major parties.

God: Behold ye angels, I have created the ass.. Throughout the ages to come men and women shall grab hold of these and shout my name...

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

What's more hard-left than a socialist who seeks a totalitarian state?

Republicans need to stop worrying about appearing moderate enough to attract quasi-socialists and actually stand for the values that will prevent America from following Greece. America's numbers are quickly catching up to Greece's. They tried being more than moderate with McCain and that left millions of voters unmotivated to show up to poll. Giant Douche or Shit Sandwich? Yeah.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

Obama knows nothing about political strategy. He has made countless mistakes on matters concerning his power and public image, and only seems to be ever accommodating to the elite. I think he is a tragic story of a naive, arm chair scholar who sought change and got pwned by the realities of power. He is now effectively, if not unwillingly, a lapdog of the elite. I don't think he really is a socialist, but economic freedom is dwindling day by day. Between a conniving politician concerned with appeasing his short-sighted big-business masters, and a naive idealist in the same position as Obama, the results are the same. If you are not strong and uncompromising enough to control the elite, you will end up serving them. America needs a strong, ruthless, and Machiavellian ruler. Someone not afraid to confront and present demands to the elite.

Sadly, the soils of our Republic are fast becoming a wasteland from the drought of private interests and big government, and the only way for freedom and prosperity to grow again is for the blood of tyrants to fertilize it.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

Sarah has all ethics charges proved to be crap. The issue was anyone could file (I believe daffy duck filed as well, true story) and that the Government had to treat any allegations seriously and do full investigations, and not the Governors office, not the Government, but the person who was the Governor had to pay their own legal fees.

Additionally it is a situation where filers with no truth and with an intent to destroy the personal wealth of the Governor would face no punishment for doing so.

It's like telling me I can file claim after claim on Obama, the Justice Department must grant a hearing on each, and the President has to pay from his personal money for my lawyer, his lawyer and all money the government spent on the case period. Which is why Sarah retired.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

Regardless Sarah Palin is a viable candidate just upon the number of followers she has. No one can ignore that McCain was lsoing til he picked her, and she drew crowds just as big as Obama did. Her book sold huge prior to being available and she gets results from her facebook page.

To discount her is to buy into propoganda against her

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

to vilify her, sure, but she's not a real Presidential contender.  Being President is about managing factions.  She doesn't have one and isn't building one.  Yes she has strong support from 'the base" but she is wasting it acting as Ambassador of the RINOs to Conservatives.  She is defending very weak candidates against real conservatives.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

Newt Gingrich seems to be a compromiser. He has chances to win the middle.

Mitt Romney has good chances. He is my favorite for the republicans. Conservative, but modern, not too old. Had some good results in the last run.

John McCain is far too old for a new campaign for presidency. He had his shot and missed.

Sarah Palin: If the tea party runs against Dems and Reps she will be a candidate. Seriously she made a better perfomance in the last time, but to think of her as president? Uhhh, no.

Jim DeMint has good chances. He is my second favorite after Romney. He has everything, but his positions are too far on the right to be attractive for the political middle. He would be a good Vice-president for Romney (or Romney for him).

Sean Hannity is a bit too young and his career makes him vulnerable for attacks. He has no experience in governence and so did not stand through hard times in an office.

Mike Huckabee as president would be like a second pope. His glasses are far too much painted in religious colors. What he may gain on the christian right, he would lose in the center.

Michelle Bachmann ... ? ... who? Maybe a joker to race up the field, after all others were shot in the political arena.

Ron Paul is like McCain too old. Besides this fact he seems to me a bit too controversial.

Re: Republican Presidential Prospects

If the Democrat candidate is not Obama in 2012, the Democrats have it.

The Republican Party is dead set on running AGAINST Obama.  They want no part of a commitment to a positive agenda.  They are the anti-Obama party.  If you hate Obama, then vote Republican!  don't ask what that means.

But as a few Congressional races showed this past week, if the Democrat says "yeah I don't like the socialist agenda but I'm not one of those Republican yahoos" then they can beat a Republican.

If the Democrats put up a presidential candidate against Obama then he can kick GOP butt.  Just like McCain was totally set to run against Hillary Clinton but never figured how to beat a Democrat who agreed with McCain that "Business as usual" was lousy.

And even if it is Obama and the GOP wins in 2012 in 2016 NotObama will win it for the Democrats.
If the Democrats can find enough lefties who like Obama are willing to be one-term presidents for the sake of the Revolution, the Democrats can lock it in for a generation.
