Topic: Humanity, from a Third Party Perspective
Ok, in the last 3 years a few movies have be introduced that hit key elemental points i think are very valid notions to be put up for consideration. (Day after Tomorrow, District 9).
It is no secret that as a whole humanity is self-adsorbed, resource mongering, violent, relatively unintelligent, selfish, cruel, and unbalanced in the ecosphere that we reside. (This is the rule, there are exceptions).
So how would a superior race view us? A threat? A primitive race yet to mature? Would they give us the chance to mature?
Knowing the nature of humanity, and the fact that our priorities have not chance since the Sumerian Empire -- It's quite easy to deduce the notion that once we are capable of space-born living, and expansion we will attempt to annexe or subdue any race we encounter, and simply use an excuse for it, such as "For the Security of Humanity's Future", we always find an excuse to go outside our bounds, this is not just America - Whatever nation resided as the World's Hyper-power it has been so (Funny how prior Hyper-powers that practice the same methodology love to point on the current one and criticized in a cloud of hypocrisy).
So, since most of us here are fairly intelligent open minded people (Unlike mainstream), consider this.
You are an highly advanced race, you happen to by chance discover this race of "Humans" living on a beautiful planet, these humans are slowly killing the planet, they are violent, and most of all they advance quickly, and soon they will be capable of taking to the stars, what do you do?
It's clear that we would never accept such life forms into our communities under the pretense of that which can be seen in the new (remade) series "V", rather we would most likely if capable give them a welcoming that is similar to that in the movie "District 9", any race capable of space travel to the point of discovering us, would clearly be advanced enough to see the threat we would pose, what do you think they would do? What do you think they SHOULD do?
