Topic: How the US really works

Stupid people believe that the United States is a Democratic government or Constitutional Republic, and furthermore that the nation's electoral system actually has a bearing on the outcomes in the nation. While this may be true on the face of it, nothing could be further from the truth in practice. Since the time that human groups had members who were able to monopolize the control of resources, there has been stratification and unequal access to power.

Those with power, whether it is owed to influence, coercive power, or control of resources, ultimately make the decisions. Politicians may be humiliated and their careers ruined, but that won't change the structure of power. The structure of power may change over time as new inventions are made and power struggles are settled, but it is a futile hope to expect equality, justice, or equal representation. All these things are ultimately permitted because the elite have decided that it's to their benefit to permit them, and they will terminate them if the conditions change.

In our democratic country, our freedoms are intended to serve their benefit. Our political issues are intended to occupy us with the illusion of freedom and entertain us. And our politicians owe their power to the powerful elites.

All attempts to create a just and equal society are also futile. No matter what elite you depose, another will take it's place. The French Revolution and Russian Revolution proved that.

There is no point for me proving this, because any intelligent person can realize it.

America is a plutocracy, and so is every country on earth. If you disagree you're stupid.

Re: How the US really works

So why all the hard work the founders of the US put into establishing the Constitution, separation of powers, etc.
They just could have declared themselves Caesars and ruled with an iron fist.

The inmates are running the asylum

Re: How the US really works

I'm in favor of a benevolent dictatorship of robot masters either that or a magic 8 ball or we could split up into a bunch of warring factions so nobody can get total power without a decisive technological advance in weaponry to prove their worthiness as leader.

Re: How the US really works

Because of how power was organized. Monarchy has compatibility issues in a capitalist economy, and that's why modern monarchs have typically had to make concessions.

Re: How the US really works

Justinian you are claiming total control by the 'ruling class'. I argue only 35% of the population is utterly under certain elites hands, and roughly 30% get moderately controlled.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)

Re: How the US really works

Its kinda harsh to put all systems in one basket. But I'll argue later about the difference between the US system and an absolute regime.

You have a point tough all democractic systems on earth are to a certain extend plutocracies.
