Topic: Obama (New York) and Europe...
That's it. After seeing that Ney Yrok "might be contested" in the polls, I realize that the polls are just plain wrong, and that we will see a landslide Obama victory.
So this puts me in a different mode, and I must tend to my fellow europeans posters here.

Let's face it, Europe is at a crucial point now (and for a couple years already) to try and decide if it will exist as a kaleidoscope of little-meaning countries or a true united global power.
And the truth is, we don't have any single personality to guide it through difficult time, even with surprising economy health (thanks Germany) and overall quality of life. The Kohl, Mitterand, even Balir - though Great Britain is barely european - have disappeared.
Now, in the US of A, Obama has more than a slight opportunity to be elected.

== OBAMA THE NEW GOD - BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA ==
---
He is everything we can admire. A smooth diplomat, a leftit cousin from that strange country where people still die in the street or from lack of healthcare, a middlename and culture that means he won't be a bully regarding current extremist threats, a BLACK american who, solely from ethnics, will be able to understands the odds when facing situations like Iraq, Iran, or any other crisis on the globe, responsibly. Great.
If you put the lack of european figures next to Obama's natural sexiness, you understand pretty quickly the attraction he might gather in Europe.
He will be a god, he will become the "lost brother that came back stronger than before" to lead the way when we are hesitating and unsure about losing some of our own sovereignty to a bigger goal.

== DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GO BACK TO THE USA? ==

Now, the equation is pretty simple. We have the choice to go our own way, and become in the next 10 or 20 years the 4th global power, next to China, Russia and the US. Or, we can just go back to our old dreams (we know them, we created or at least inspired them) from the New World.
Do you people understand what it cost us to get rid of the US way? It took an insane attack (9/11), an insane war (Iraq), obvious proofs that there were no better than we were (Abu Grahib) and the detailed and documented demonstration that they could, as we did, lose all their values to fear (Guantanamo and Patriot Acts).

== DO YOU REALIZE THE ODDS OF THIS HAPPENING AGAIN? ==
---
None. It took a president more eager to acknowledge economic benefits that geopilitcal or domestic ones, and won't happen again. It featured the most ambitious terrorist plan ever. And it needed national pride and fear to allow impossible twists to the constitution.
This is a UNIQUE chance to define ourselves without external influence, a unique opportunity to grow balls and try to exist again as a continent, and not to become once again a partner of the most powerful nation on earth.

== THINK MORE THAN 4 YEARS AHEAD ==

Yes, a "western world" (puke) led by Obama has many chances of sorting most of the world's problems. I realize that. I know also that, contrarily to the joke made by O'Reilly, he WOULD actually just need to show up and get massive crowd approval, which european democracies are so dependent upon. Berlin showed that, actually. But what next? If he starts his endeavours but a republican gets elected after 4 years? You'll pay for trusting him and what he stood for. Even after 8 years.
Having John McCain elected will be the best of both worlds:
