- number of families : > 25 but < 100
- number of players per family : 1
- starting resources: should have about 3 times what we started with.
- number of Defense Stations available - no limit. I like to see a diversity of game play styles. If someone wants to play defensively and DS and laser-up every system and infra whore their way into late-stage of round, all the power to them.
- lengtt of the round - permanent. Keep it 'open' even when there is a last man standing, and allow new joiners (see part on 'goal if any' below for more on this notion). A new HC galaxy should be started every week, though, for those players who get killed off and / or those want to start fresh. Also, allow a VIP player to play in any number of HC galaxies as they want at any given time, so there can be multiple HC galaxies.
- number of sectors, systems and size of the map: each galaxy should be sized according to the number of players actually play and are active. Is it possible to have a sort of fog of war where the galaxy size is unknown until the number of active players is determined by mods and thus the size of the galaxy is then revealed accordingly? This would be much better than currently estimating how many people will play weeks before and then set the size hoping it will be appropriate. I think this galaxy is WAY too small, btw. My round was essentially ruined by my starting position crammed in with nowhere to explore early.
- overall goal, if any: The goal should be for one player to end up controlling every planet in a galaxy, at which point the player gets assigned galactic tag. The player should hold and control that galaxy permanently, and keep generating income and res in that galaxy. Then as players get their own galaxies after many HC rounds are started and finished, there starts intergalactic wars. After this gets popular and more people join this game, you can start having HC rounds with families of many players in bigger family HC galaxies, and then galaxies which are then controlled by individual families and which become individual permanent families' home turfs, whereupon you start seeing intergalactic wars between families trying to invade each others' galaxies... and so on and so on...Yeah, you'll need more servers, but because you'll require VIP for players to play in as many galaxies as they want, you'll have the money to pay for it as well as enough money to pay for development.
And, yeah, we need market.
