Soooooooo... your answer is "screw it, who cares about a global economic crisis from protectionism?"

This may sound odd, but in this context, I would be neutral.  Here's why:

If you weren't actually running, there's absolutely no reason why you would be employing me to write speeches for you... when you aren't actually using them.  It's just a waste of money that would need to come from your pocket just to get someone else to claim you're running... not that great a plan.  So if his argument is that you aren't running, it would be illogical for him to argue that you're paying me... and thus, in the world where he's right and you're not running... I'm neutral, because I'm not employed by you.  So for his argument to be true, he's forced to accept my neutrality as a prerequisite to his argument.  tongue

But if you are running, my bias would be irrelevant to the matter.

I call dibs on the protectionism debate!

Why would you possibly think it's a good idea to put tariffs on imports when, empirically, it brought an already stagnant economy into the shitter during the Great Depression?

Actually, there may be a medical problem with harvesting organs from criminals.  Drugs in particular...

Prisons are obviously big drug problem areas, depending on the country, many of which would damage the very organs that would be harvested.  In addition, the execution itself would have to be overhauled so that the execution method wouldn't harm the organs (so the electric chair is pretty much out).  In theory, the organ extraction itself could be the method of execution... except that witnesses attend the executions.  I'm pretty sure it would be considered cruel and unusual to have the family of a death row inmate come to see a doctor remove the criminal's heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, eyes, etc.

Not that I'm necessarily against it... just highlighting some hurdles it would need to overcome.

For the record, xeno's looking to get a draft spot.

From his thread in uni news.

Xeno, please try not to make my job more complicated than it has to be.  tongue

Closing this thread.  Please use xeno's thread in the drafting forum for this content.

Suit yourself...

Closing the thread in Uni News.  I suggest you put what content you wanted from that thread into this thread, then.

You're keeping me busy today... tongue

Please pick one... the thread in Uni News or drafting?  One is to be closed, the other will probably be best served in Drafting (to make sure your idea is out there), but we can't have both open due to multiple topic spam rules.

(Note: The only reason why I can ask you is because I'm pretty sure you're still online... otherwise, I'll tentatively close the quietest of the two threads, and move the other here).

It's definitely a reference to a political topic... but only by an abstract reference.  In practice, this has nothing to do with political events occurring, except that it's using a term that's used in politics... which probably isn't enough to warrant it being there.

That being said, this could belong in Community... I'm not sure, in part because I'm not even sure what you're asking, lol!

So... you're asking people to...

Do what they normally do?

Yeah, and this is definitely being moved to General... or maybe Community?  Dang, I don't even know where this would belong, but it's definitely not here... to the General forum!

Okay, xeno... now you're clearly just trolling.  If you want this to be a real discussion, I suggest you return to what issues you want to discuss, and save the Flintstones jokes for the General forums.

I've actually looked into the matter, and have found evidence that Flint is definitely running for office.  I won't be posting it here without his permission, though, since my evidence would inadvertently reveal personal information in violation of the forum rules (it may be a rule violation.  I've actually asked the mods about this particular question).  For now, though... the best I can do is provide my assurance that, from the evidence a third party has found, he's running (in this particular context, I'm an unbiased party, since according to the speculation that he isn't actually running, I would have no incentive to go to bat for him).

/me thinks Zarf thinks threads should be placed into their appropriate sub-thread under punishment of death, isn't that right, Zarf?

I was wondering how long it would take before someone would comment on the avvy.  Tehehehehe... smile  Thanks for not disappointing!  big_smile

Did someone that isn't me just invoke Godwin's Law?  I feel like I'm just not doing my job anymore... sad

EDIT: Wait a sec... Mussolini was Italian!  Godwin's law is specific to the Nazis!  Primo's just bending the law's wording to fit his own personal gain... JUST LIKE THE NAZIS!
