Religion contradicts experience in two ways. First it makes unreliable predictions. Second, it is not supported by evidence. Finally, if your belief is not empirically testable or supported by evidence, your belief sucks. You can practice your religion within reasonable limits, but do not impose it on public life or diplomatic policy. Domestic and foreign issues are best left to the power-mad pragmatists.

Yeah man. Some women are greedy these days too, but there are good ones out there.

There are people with more than I have. Look at Bill Gates. He lives in a technological marvel of a mansion with all the pleasures he wants, while I live in this piece of crap apartment. What's worse is that there are people who live worse off than me. Some even live without sanitary conditions or adequate food, and boy I feel happy that I live somewhere in the middle of that continuum. But who can seriously say this depth of inequality is morally right? Bill Gates does not need to live like that, and he should get out of his pleasure house and donate most of his money to benefit the rest of us. He needs some compassion!

But the rich are evil. They horde all the money they don't need by exploiting us and we all live like beggars. The only way to solve this problem, I see, is for there to be more democracy and a bigger government. Everyone knows a bigger democratic government is for the people, and then with this solution we could redistribute wealth more fairly and life would be better and more compassionate for everyone. We don't need to take all of the money belonging to the rich, but we can even it out some and give people a better education.

Zarf,

Terminating a dependency relationship doesn't have to result with death, but it can be costly. For example, a politician may depend on an alliance with an elite (and lets assume the elite can easily replace him and so the relationship is unfair), but terminating that alliance will only be costly and won't kill him or ruin his political career.

Leave the girl a lone...and let's talk about something more important?>

It's interesting. Likewise, if you got a girl pregnant and we knew, we would be talking about that too.

Sadly, I'm stranded in the US for 5 years because I'm still waiting for a few people to die yet. But I did meet a foreign exchange chick from Brazil who won't stop talking to me, and I plan to use her to marry in to a SA family.

Yes, but zealous Christians require a better reason than convenience, such as abuse.

I can normally win in that game, except against Koreans who have no life and 500 apm averages.

Yeah, but in German class I remember sentences like Ich "outside" gehe.

Ok, so he should have said "Ich bin Berliner," and not included the "ein."

You Germans have the most complicated language. Other times you say sentences like "I am outside going." Or in the JFK case, he would have said "I am Berliner," if he got it right.
