Lazy gits tongue

Ill do it tonight if I have time.

Catch me on MSN and ill give you the fixed mapfile

Does, Anyone have time to fix the PW map file?

A simple bit of script or code will do it, maybe 45 mins work, i dont have time atm.

Heres how to do it :

Make the .dat file as normal.
If you open that in mapgen you will see that Home systems show, but no other systems show ( apart form a few at bottom of S4)

If you open the .dat file in a hex editor you will see that home systems are represented by value 81(Hex). Other systems should be 01. (00 is empty space where ther is no system)

There are 6F(Hex) header bytes, then the map detail starts at byte 70(hex) so system 1,1 is byte 70, system 1,2 is byte 71 etc...

So for example byte 70(hex) should be 01 instead of 00 because there is a system at 1,1.

To fix it you need a script or code to :

open map source file and extract all co-ordinate pairs (x,y)
Calculate the byte position for each of these co-ordinate pairs,
the byte postion is the value of x +((y-1)*30) plus the offset (6F hex)
so for example 1,1 is 1+111(6F hex) =112 (70 hex)
repeat for next (x,y) pair until all done.

Put all these values representing byte positions into an array.

open the .dat file and read bytes until the first byte position in your array (byte 112 (70 hex)).
If the byte at that posistion is zero change it to 01, otherwise leave it (home systems are 81 hex)

continue through to end of .dat file

Save new file

Not content with Nationalising banks, Mortgage companies and Insurance Co's It looks like the Bush government could be about to Nationalise the Car industry too.

Ironically, the huge cash surpluses generated by the state controlled economy of China, moslty loaned to USA, contributed to the overspending which precipitated the current crisis.

"The fundamental cause of America's woes (and ours too) is that its consumers, businesses and government all borrowed too much in the good years, especially from China.

China's semi-nationalised, heavily state-controlled economy generated huge financial surpluses through its massive trade in manufactured goods with America. And those financial surpluses were recycled back to America in the form of loans, so that US consumers and businesses could buy even more from China's factories and workshops."

Good job stamper.

I havent read it all, but I did notice this:

This is a bit more balanced than Fox:

"Staffers for Al Franken, who once worried that the Minnesota Democrat would fall short against Republican Sen. Norm Coleman even after a recount, now seem optimistic that their candidate will be thrust into the lead before the recount even takes place.

The Franken team had their spirits bolstered today when it was announced that the deficit they face in their still-to-be-decided election against Norm Coleman was reduced by 100 votes.

A county official in Minnesota had accidentally entered 24 votes for Franken instead of 124 when he and other election officials submitted the tally at 5:25 A.M Wednesday. And so, the Democratic challenger is now just 237 votes behind the Republican incumbent. If history is any guide, the results could keep changing even before the state gets to its automatic recount.

Currently, Minnesota's 87 counties are conducting a review of their election results. During this process, the vote totals for the two candidates have gone up and down with some regularity. While Franken picked up 100 votes in Pine County, Coleman received 11 additional votes in Sherburne. In another county, absentee ballots were mistakenly typed in twice on election night, impacting 250 votes there.

Taken as a whole, the situation is far less stable than the Coleman campaign has been claiming. And it could get even cloudier.

During the 2006 Minnesota Senate race, the vote totals for both candidates changed far more drastically than the roughly 300-vote margin that currently separates the two candidates this year. In that election, Republican Mark Kennedy lost 3,520 votes between the day after the election and the final certification. Meanwhile, Democrat Amy Klobuchar lost 666 votes. All in all, the size of her victory actually went up by 2,854 votes.

If Franken does take the lead before the recount, his campaign can point to a statement made by Coleman just the other day in which he insisted that, were he in Franken's position, he would take himself out of the race.

If I were trailing, "I would step back," said the Senator. "I just think the need for a healing process is so important [and] the possibility that any change of magnitude is so remote."

@ golk, that wasnt how the Athenian experiment worked, it wasnt based on an "elite"

All "citizens" of Athens were allowed a vote, the main difference between that and current systems was that the Athenian system was a "direct" democracy, the "citizens" didnt vote to elect representatives to make decisions, the citizens made the decisions themselves by voting.

So if anything the Athenian system was MORE representative of the peoples will, not less so. Exactly the same criticisms that imperial is using against current democracy could be, and were, levelled at the athenian example.

I dont see too many "facts" in your posts, just opinion and generalisations.

Here's some "facts" for you

Although Greece is generally considered to be the birthplace of democracy, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that democracy existed in various forms long before the Athenians example. Your statement that "DEMOCRACY was not INTENDED for the WAY WE USE IT." is  nonsensical.

If you mean to say our democracy is not the way Athenians used democracy then say so.

Your anti democracy arguments are based on the premise that the US population is somehow not qualified, though lack of intelligenceor knowledge or lack of interest.

Well here another "fact" for you.

The anti democrats in Athens said much the same thing. Socrates and Plato "argued that the majority of the people, because they were by and large ignorant and unskilled, would always get it wrong."

Fact is that people the world over have fought long and hard throughout history for universal suffrage, and although its not perfect (8 years of bush for example) Its not something to be given up lightly.

Your anti democray arguments are not new, they have been aired many times and rejected. Like the republicans smile

Imperial, as I said, what do you suggest?

You're whining about democracy because it hasnt given you the government YOU want.

You want some system where the government is always one that you personally approve of?

I doesnt take much thinking to see the obvious flaw in that

Even if that were true, (which i dont accept) how does that help ?

We're taking about the electorate.

I love how the right wing start bleating on about democracy doesnt work, just after their party loses.

If youd had said it 4 years ago when bush got re-elected you might have had more credibilty.

what do you suggest, an IQ test before being allowed to vote?

If you did that the republicans would never win again.

Yeah great idea, it would 100% guarantee no chance of a republican win,  Yell actually makes Palin look sensible.

Obama has inherited a pile of crap mostly made by Bush.

A war in iraq that most of america are against.

A huge Fiscal deficit run up by Bush

A world Financial crisis and impending depression.

His room for manoeuvre is very limited, I think a lot of people will be extremely disappointed if they expect major change.

Obama although I agree hes a bit too conservative.

This marxism smear is a desparate last throw of the dice by the right wing similar to the infamous fake zinoviev letter which prevented the labour party from being elected in 1924.

I dont believe there are enough Americans who are dumb enough to fall for it, despite the frenetic efforts of right wing bloggers.

V kemp you're a rabid neo fascist who cant handle the fact that your party looks to be heading for defeat.

You are either a moron with a big mouth and no idea of what marxism actually is, or else you are deliberately lying with your pathetic claims.

Its laughabe to think that some on here consider obama to be a Marxist tongue

Even more funny to think that some Americans consider you a marxist if youve read Marx, thats pure ignorance.
