lol hashup12. your lucky last round i had a SS race with crappy attack bonus and no speed ![]()
Same here, crappy ss banker race without proper science or tax offices
But now we're all new and fresh ![]()
We can safely say that for a few people here, however i'd rather not be put in that class.
Its all thanks to the millions gained from the rich flashy:P but in truth, we did alright for a halfactivish ss late round fam, managed to finish decently in size at least.
Does, Anyone have time to fix the PW map file?
A simple bit of script or code will do it, maybe 45 mins work, i dont have time atm.
Heres how to do it :
Make the .dat file as normal.
If you open that in mapgen you will see that Home systems show, but no other systems show ( apart form a few at bottom of S4)
If you open the .dat file in a hex editor you will see that home systems are represented by value 81(Hex). Other systems should be 01. (00 is empty space where ther is no system)
There are 6F(Hex) header bytes, then the map detail starts at byte 70(hex) so system 1,1 is byte 70, system 1,2 is byte 71 etc...
So for example byte 70(hex) should be 01 instead of 00 because there is a system at 1,1.
To fix it you need a script or code to :
open map source file and extract all co-ordinate pairs (x,y)
Calculate the byte position for each of these co-ordinate pairs,
the byte postion is the value of x +((y-1)*30) plus the offset (6F hex)
so for example 1,1 is 1+111(6F hex) =112 (70 hex)
repeat for next (x,y) pair until all done.
Put all these values representing byte positions into an array.
open the .dat file and read bytes until the first byte position in your array (byte 112 (70 hex)).
If the byte at that posistion is zero change it to 01, otherwise leave it (home systems are 81 hex)
continue through to end of .dat file
Save new file
Done
hehe, thats nothing for me, hope someone else understand this greek...
lol, well if i had time i might have given it a shot, but i dont have any right now...
