Disney is still a big "IF" long term, they don't have anything really solid apart from the parks and there's a strong possibility their copyrights on Walt's characters will be voided on constitutional grounds.  everybody knows they need partners to recover their stride; but their Board is so nasty that they can't keep anybody who could turn them around. ie Pixar and Dreamworks

Warner...why invest in music stock? Are they going to figure out how to stop filesharing online?

I'm paying out of pocket to become a paralegal. Doubling up classes to finish by June in fact i should go do homework rightnow instead of gabbing. I get so tired I read the damn tort law book four times before it clicks, i'm back to using flahscards out of the text.

Naughty me sad  well back to the salt mines

Thanks and i'll let you know what comes of it

Nuclear is going to be huge. Especially since either McCain or both Democrats want to curb carbon output--dumb, but that means new power plants can't burn stuff. Nuclear means "polluting" with hydrogen and oxygen and water vapor. There's thirty years of experience with it and Toshiba and the Germans have microreactors that can be shut down without a meltdown. The big holdup has been federal regs and the Not In My Backyard suyndrome and both can be overcome especially if we have more rolling brownouts.

BW first I need to graduate this summer and get a bigger salary as a paralegal. Then I can get out of the credit hole I jumped into to buy courses. Then I might get a FHA loan. I dont want to be a 2% down buyer but if I can get $8000 more a year I wouldn't have to be.

Sadly the buds are onto that one, if I called them over and then asked them to lay a floor I'd either pay them $15 an hour or be laid under it.  No "barnraising" in CA

Yeah we have a kind of slump here what with appraisers aiming too high by 25%

The only sure bet is to take a damaged house and fix it, that's sure to increase the appraised value. Happily there's plenty of rundown foreclosures

Crab...well right now I see a perfect storm of a viable industry artificially choked by government regulation--the quota to prevent overfishing. That means in the early days one could speculate on the permits and still recoup out of the eventual production. When speculation gets intense that always fails because people start borrowing to enable production--look at agriculture. But in the short term it should be good if you go in with a partner who can either sell or use the production permit himslef.  Of course by the time i could get $10,000 above my debts the window should be gone. We'll see.

What he said.

I'm thinking of investing in the stock market indirectly like in a mutual fund. My first goal is get a decent salary, pay off debt, save $10,000 and then use it as venture capital, I'm thinking help crab fishermen buy and trade Individual Resource Quotas for a split of the profit. Then when I have @ $20000 I could start buying foreclosed homes and repairing them for resale. Even in a bad economy that earns money, and in a boom it could pay off huge.

They're all lefties and none of them will help make things better

I dont think we ever promised to rebuild commie countries. ElSalvador was a capitalist state all the way with death squads and Nicaragua voted the commies out in 1990 after Reagan left.

The big problem I think is We permit Latin Americans to come here illegally and run wild.

We'll stomp the rebels into submission! Just as soon as our snazzy uniforms come in. Navy blue slacks with lime green blazers and pale blue oxford shirts, and a blue-green tie. Fur Mussolini hats with gold tassels.  And enough firearms that nobody laughs
