two versions

they ask to direct deposit your award and ask you to verify your banking info with a token $1 payment.  Having your bank account info, they forge a draft.

or, they ask for a nominal fee.  Then a tax.  Then they say you need to open a specific type of bank account overseas with a minimum deposit.  This one requires close rapport with the sucker after he calls in.

Next time they should film it as dark and intense

But have the Penguin use a Batman android to rob banks while Riddler uses a blimp to haunt an amusement park

Just for old times sake

because the Amercians do suck.  We all hate Amercians.  Amercia is a latrine of a country full of ignorant peasants.  And they're fanatically violent and we should have nuked their ass after 9/11.

Global warming is being seriously challenged...

And whether Doomsday Clock was really at 5 minutes to Eleven, we all believed that to be true, which is the lost mood I'm discussing.   The average American believed a full thermonuclear exchange was inevitable, if not imminent.

MACROSS was badly dubbed and cut and played on US TV in 1985 as "Robotech".  This little sequence of global annihilation nearly got it banned.  Parents were furious that it was "snuck in" at 4pm instead of airing after the family hour, 10pm like a serious drama such as "The Day After".

"The Day After" was seriously challenged too, because it depicted America using tactical nukes first.

We're pumping kids full of crap about global warming, but nothing like we used to do regarding the Cold War.  In 1981 I got a mimeographed sheet that set out a story.  I was building a bomb shelter and I was half finished when the nukes started falling.  30 people showed up and I had room and food for 15.   It went down the list-- family of five, 80 year old doctor whose wife had terminal cancer, etc.  and asked me how I'd choose.  I was in first grade.

In 1955 we didn't have Medicare but we spent tax dollars on this crap:

When you absolutely positively had to have a nuke delivered 13 miles away regardless of weather.

I understand 1/3 of the US population was born since 1980, so most people don't even remember living under the threat of the Bomb.  It explains how frivolous and disproportionate they are.

You can see why we're having trouble when the Treasury Dept thinks the best way to shore up a troubled brokerage, is for Congress to completely guarantee its debts, so as to keep investors coming in.

What happened to the sense we had in the 1980s when nobody was too big to fail?

-I- liked the one with the funky lines and trapezoids on the screen that was supposed to be the trench of the death star, and it had a mono speaker (Bee Doo Doo BeeDeeDee Doo Doo) and you'd have to put your cursor over the flashing lines and pull the trigger or your Xwing exploded.  That was more mondo bitchin than Raiders of the Lost Ark pinball!

And come up with ingame penalties for rule violation

Ruining from the inside sounds Dutch

>>I've had police pull me over simply because my car doesn't look like anything that they feel I could afford and give me tickets for something as miniscule as driving while on a cell phone. Despite the fact that I was calling to tell my job that I was running 10 minutes late. Cops have pulled me over simply because they were "Doing routine stops". I've had a policeman pull me over because I bought a new car and he wanted to verify that I was the owner. <<

Then don't come to California, because they do that to everybody.  I've been stopped for a cracked windshield, I had to grovel to get off without a ticket---I said I was right on the way to the house to fix it.

also outright illegal in CA:

driving too slowly for the flow of traffic
driving the posted speed limit in unsafe conditions
merging too slowly
making a beeline across lanes
having sunglasses with temples fatter than 1/2"
having anythign hanging from the rearview mirror
having tinted windows or windscreen not done by an approved retailer
having anything in the car that obstructs your total view out the rear windshield
having rowdy and distracting passengers
tossing any litter out the window, leaking fluids, trailing smoke, riding too low, riding too high, having too few lights, having too many lights, having a trunk with no lid, having a trunk with a lid tied down with rope
looking like you need a ticket
