Important lesson everyone must know! You don't owe anyone unless it is explicitly stated. If someone does something nice for you without asking for something in return, you are not obliged to reciprocate later. If it makes you feel better, always ask "I don't owe you anything right?" If they ask for reciprocity later, then say "I do not owe you anything. Or were you trying to manipulate me?"

Really Chris, I think you are making a bigger deal out of s-x than it really is. It is a sensual experience, and you'll only feel guilty if you allow yourself to be. In my case, I view s-x as nothing emotional, and therefore I do not have emotional costs. It is fun and you should try it, just like I would advise you go see Iron Man II.

As for first times: It is not going to be the best. In fact, you may not fully understand the motions. I think it is best to be first taught by a professional so you don't look like a fool with your pants on the ground, haha.

WFS,

Waste? I never quite understood the crowd who promoted the idea of waiting for someone special. For pete sakes, it's a sensual experience, like going to see a movie or carnival.

You remind me of my friend. He's a 34 year old virgin majoring in Astrophysics. I have taken him to a strip club, and managed to persuade one of the strippers to sleep with him. Then he rejected the offer. WTF! And it was hard enough getting him to the strip club in the first place!

I guess some people are just asexual...

Hehe, Chris has offers from female IC members to devirginize him all ready, and yet he has rejected them. I have also offered to spend $ on his behalf to seduce a girl to devirginize him, and he rejected that too. He's hopeless.

For the record, I do not touch female virgins. Flint can level them up a few levels first for all I care.

LOL.

Okay Bief. If you say so... They are still Westerners, even if you do not like them or want them included in any union.

Einstein,

True. The only justification I have is that I think it would be cool, and that such an Empire would be invincible. Not even China could hope to measure up to it.

A lot of people who call themselves Democrats are just sensitive about racial issues, and they scream racism at an incident without knowing the circumstances, and sometimes not even what racism is.

This is my approximate idea of the West

http://i44.tinypic.com/n9eg8.jpg

And Italy and Greece are "Western." You haters can stfu. Greece laid the foundations of Western civilization, and Rome adapted, improved upon and spread it. Though Greece also spread Western Civilization under Alexander The Great and his successors, their success was short lived and the borders of Western Civilization contracted with Persian, and later Muslim expansion. Furthermore, I tried to limit my borders to Russia, but I consider western Russia mostly Western as well. Israel and Japan are also vaguely Western, although I did not include them because both countries, while heavily influenced by the West, have effectively adapted Western influence in to their own cultures (like Japanese anime), and Japan strongly maintains its own unique identity. That said, I think it would be cool if Japan were to be part of a Western Union.

Sadly, I agree that a Western Union is impractical today. Nevertheless, I think the idea would be cool, and may not be as foolish of an idea in the distant future.

I think it would be cool if there was a Western Union, as in a union of the Western world. The West could have its own currency, and be a confederation headquartered in Rome.

I agree the Republicans can STFU about religion and social conservatism.

However, HIV is overrated. It does not deserve the attention it gets. The transmission risk is so low I would risk my life by having unprotected intercourse with a HIV infected woman every day (provided she was hot and not infected with any other viral STI) for an entire year every day just to prove my point.

A war can not be illegal beyond a country's own laws. There is no world government to issue or enforce such laws. Sure, there is a UN, but it is not a world government. It is kind of like all the drug cartels having a regular conference to communicate and cooperate when it is convenient for them. The power of the conference also depends on the collective cooperation of its members. Likewise, any member of the conference can tell the conference to buzz off if they don't like their decisions. The world major powers have all done that many times with the UN, and it's not like the UN can do anything about it.

Art? It's not an asset and I don't want my money going to it. Governments of the past used art to glorify themselves. Second, I have no taste for modern art. I might have a different view if it was more like ancient to early modern art, but sorry I am not impressed by graph papers with lines through them being displayed in art museums.

Torture? Being upset about it is a waste of energy and it does not violate my rather low moral expectations of government.

Frosty,

China has increased its economic freedom, and that has correlated with its increased prosperity. In the case of the US, the list of our rights keeps getting shorter. That said, China is a huge bubble about to collapse.

Yeah, I modified my post. It occurred to me that it may be expensive to just eliminate barbarians, but rather I should have said instead that we do not need to obey those rules if our opponent is not. That doesn't mean we rape or pillage ourselves, but that the restraints do not apply to us when they are necessary to protect our own forces.

Then again, you give enemy combatants nothing to lose by fighting you if you promise to kill all of them.

Edit: Agreed with Kemp. If they are civilized, then we will be civilized. If they are barbarians, then we should be permitted to remove those restraints if it is convenient to do so.

Furthermore

The UN is not a super-national authority. We are not all neighbors subject to the authority of the UN. The UN is more like a town meeting place, and the only effective authority it has comes from coalitions of neighbors. But if a neighbor or coalition of neighbors decides to say "F U," and no counter coalition can be raised to enforce its will, then there's frankly nothing the UN can do about it.

I think War Honor should be two sided. If you both agree to minimize the negative effects of war, then great. But if not, anything goes.

I can't really comment, because what I would say depends on the credibility of the facts. And right now, I am not convinced of their truth.

But I will say that I want to live next to civilized, educated people with professional degrees or small business owners. This can be guaranteed by the housing prices of my neighborhood. Likewise, living nearby poor people can be guaranteed by the low prices of ghetto neighborhoods. I like it this way, and the idea of diversifying neighborhoods makes me feel uneasy, and is clearly actually driven by profit.

The US has a strong, central authority with command of the most powerful military on earth. The EU is barely a weak confederation of independent nations each exercising their own autonomy. The EU may as well be compared to the Holy Roman Empire. Great potential, but incapable of serving one central authority.
