It mkaes it more fun, because you are much more involved in what your doing. Atm im playing ressie in a fully organised fam, and already its boring. You get pm telling you what and when to do, and thats about it.

Yep, this is exactly what I've been saying smile

Im playing SS but not feeling that comfortable in a fam who will get high ntw and so be possible big target but we wont have the skill/activity to fend them off so i'll be killed becuz of that.

Yep, I can see this might be a problem.

Hmmm....

ezploring 10 ezplos is not enuf, and is not safe if we want to get rid of multis.

The intention and focus of Virgo is to help the newer players.  Not filter the multi's.  The fact that it 'helps' with Multi's is a bonus smile

We are also interested in advertising smile

We just want to work out a couple things first (works in progress) at the moment, then we can start our advertising campaign.

It is Catch-22 situation, but yea, we think it's better this way first.  So hopefully hang on to a bit, then we can start our recruitment drive.

Meanwhile, bring your friends/whatever in!

For your information, as a trial, planets per system have been reduced.

The range of planets per system are now 15-20 as opposed to 20-25.

In future, this may become a galaxy setting, but for now, this is true for all galaxies.

Enjoy! smile

Why would we not want to hear what you just said?

If anything, we've added processes to remove 'mindless' activity.  Things exactly like you said, ie automated processes.  A few examples are:
- Mass Overbuild tool (do you remember building on each planet?).
- System List Tool (how tedious was it to make Yamas?)
- Cost Calculater for Units/Infra (all required third party calculations to be done).

So yea, we're heading in that direction - but it's a slow process cos there's a lot more that needs to go on too.

Apology accepted!

I retract the comparison to Flint.

Okay, so I see the game started earlier.  16:00 GMT to be precise.

But verified the top bar is accurate at least.

Question Render..

How will the leaders pick from their 15?

This should be ezplained in the nezt stage but per ur request:

Onze the lists are filled eazh leader kan start kommunikating with the people in his list by using private msgs or by irz, I supose any leader has a family setup in mind and wants the player that fits better in that setup.
This 'kommunikation' period will be from thursday 17gmt to saturday 12gmt (more or less).

The elektion phase will be set during the weekend or nezt monday, I will kreate a zhannel in irz for leaders eksklusively and a mod as witness (I'm trying to get Poley involved).  So we set a meeting time to do the elektions, any leader that kannot be there at the meeting will kreate a priority list and send to me, or he/she has the option to send a representant to the meeting.

The elektion order will be semi-random and round, set by me and Poley using dizes (I'll ezplain this later) or any other who brings a dize. In the elektion order also will influenze the lists that are less filled kompared to those full and with players in qeue. The teams will be formed in 4 rounds following the elektion order.
The players not elekted from the lists will go bak to the pool and will be drafted direktly by the leaders with unfilled teams (tho I made the prozess safe enuf to avoid this kase, it kan still happen).
Any empty slot, or fam without leader (remember we have 15 fams) will be filled by randoms joining the gal (this will rarely happen if we keep these good paze, so all the 75 players will mostly be from the pool).

Hehe thanks.  Didn't fully understand, but I'll wait for the next round anyway tongue

Bringing back Virgo is a great idea..... I always been in favour of a training galaxy so players know the basics when they join a galaxy.

Although the problem with Virgo was the inactivity/lazyness of some of the tutors.... You need active Tutors in Virgo so you can teach new players how to play.... If you have to get through a training galaxy and the one that's supposed to answer the questions doesn't answer you can get pretty demotivated and quitting before even completing the training galaxy....

Very true, when I went through virgo, I graduated without ever getting a reply from my tutor.

I think we could set it up differently though now.  Like have 2-3 Tutors per fam, and only have like 1-2 Fams.  That's all that's needed at the moment, given our playerbase and new accounts.

Here's another consideration, when you start a new game elsewhere, you're atleast given an onscreen guide when you start the game.

why can't we do that for new players here?

New players  joins, logs in, joins a galaxy, on the hq page have a pop up, with a guide, some things to do.

Hell this doesn't have to apply to new players, this could apply to all of us, with a mighty little 'x' button the rest of us can close it, new players might be intrigued to read it, then maybe message a leader, and maybe try to figure out whats going on.

If you really stop and think about it, when you sign up for this game, and log in, and join a galaxy, you really have nothing to go by. there's a bunch of buttons on the side, some info in the middle, but no real way to say hey! this is whats going on... welcome smile

We have this now, actually.  You guys just can't see it cos it's for new registered accounts. And obviously creating multiple accounts is not allowed.  Perhaps we can get some screenshots posted for you guys.

But yea, I always liked Virgo.  It helped with the Multying issue too, cos new accounts had to all go through Virgo and get passed through by Mods (i think).

Nice stuff! smile

Organised a raid with about 7-8 players old school style.  Careful planning and put a lot of hard work into it!

Conducted on T-Rex

Ground ran him first tick, and then the next tick proceeded to conduct the raid like an orchestra calling on different fleets to be triggered by different people at different times.

Took him down from about 550 planets to like 3 in 2 ticks.

Those were the days!

So ..was just thinking.  I'm playing SS this round, and I feel at ease knowing that there's a lot of players in the fam to fulfill the "hc attacker" and "banker" roles etc.

Because of the number of players per fam, I feel comfortable not occupying a player spot that has to contribute to the team.

Don't get me wrong, I love Fam bank, and imo, a perfectly executed one blows away others and brings an Eco lead.  But it's stressful for the organisers/leaders of it (trust me, I know) and doesn't encourage (imo) too much activity or individualism from other players.  They're often required to only build when asked to and aid in very often.

Yes, I'll still help the family, yes I'll work with them.  Yes, their successes are my successes and their failures will be mine.  However, I want to be wholly responsible for my own empire and play SS this round.

Any of you guys playing SS? What are your thoughts?

PS:  Poll is just an indication of how many ppl playing SS.  Intention is not to compare with how many people say no.
PSS:  Don't get the wrong idea here.  I'm posting as a player, not as a Dev or anything.

Sol
Devilz
Cloud

Edit:  To the above, in a 5 man galaxy, I won't be able to attack.

Then again, with 5 players ...u probably only want 1 attacker, and each of you would want that role anyway!
