I think that way seems a nicer to way play, making everything yourself.
But this round I'm specialised. I've gone -30% income (want to save on upkeep costs too). Although I don't have much time, I also want to be able to attack. So Zidi says 2 sciences - but in reality I've gone for 3 too. Cons, Res and putting military up now.
The biggest problem I'm having is turning over my large amounts of iron. E.g. if I dump my iron at 9, i'll be making 990k gc from iron production/tick. When market hits 15, i'm making 1.65m/tick. Then obviously I'm hoping to be making more when wars come around and what not. Problem is, like I said, the quantity isn't in demand that much.
Hmm, just had a thought - perhaps I'll dabble in food now. Less variance there, and I can use that to offset. Already got the res sci, so that'll help.
Righto, so my excuse is that i've been quite busy, and then had to fight a war on day 3, and etc etc etc ...

So I've decided to take a break from breaking the code!
Things have been pretty busy for me as of late, work wise and other stuff. So I've decided to hand back the reigns! Couple that with when I take on a role in IC, I always seem to overextend myself and get a bit too involved -_-.
Mod Team are quite active now and it's nice to see Dev work going on as well. Stefan has repeatedly said his intention is to revitalise IC (not in these exact words -_-), and that's a really good sign!
It means Mods and Devs will be still actively looking to improve the game - which is great. Hopefully they can get a few more things going and get people involved.
If situation changes a bit, then I'd be happy to return if they require, and will still have me.

market prices are lower since resourcers produce more, thus their income remains the same cash wise.

But we all know Orbit plays in fams with no coordination and mostly SSness. In which case doing what he suggested will raise the prices of resources on the market and benefit his style of play!

Wow, been away for a few days and come back to Torq-bashing.
I'm sorry that voicing my opinion is something that upsets you guys. I put in a hell of a lot of time into IC for you guys. Do I enjoy it? Ofcourse. But that doesn't change the fact that it's "my" time, trying to make IC better.
Well, I'm not going to argue against people who are saying that I'm not a mod and shouldn't comment on these things, when they themselves are only players and are effectively doing the same. It's kinda hypocritical.
Anyway, I've enjoyed my time off IC while my daughter has been sick and things at work have been busy too. So I'll probably just continue to take a bit of time off and reassess how things are going.
PS: Ghost Spots have nothing to do with being able to place people in families. And they were never there to stop multi's either. They were brought in, to stop illegal drafting.
PSS: Render, please remove me from my team. Sadly, I have no time to devote to another playing account atm. It should be easy to find a replacement though. Least I'm not leading a team and threatening forfeit like Lee and Devilz.

Anyway, I came across a thread like this while sifting through. There was an argument that killing someoens transports/bombers on a planet, is actually a part of strategy.
I kinda agree. I love doing this to a player who is not careful. Recently it affected a war where we were fighting WhiteShadow and his ally did it to him. Was funny as hell and had somewhat played a part in the war.
Eitherway, you have mass recall now, so it's easy - before that it was stupid, since had to recall on individual planets. Now, at least it's just 3 clicks to recall em all.
So yea, not sure if this will be implemented.
Yep, updates at the tick for some reason.
And does not affect build costs.
The check is done on the race when the tag is given. I don't think it's abuseable cos it slaps the user with -ve attack bonus.
It's just like how you can build Tax Offices pre-round with a Race that has them.

Funny, cos the whole reason it was removed from HC galaxies was from player feedback. People were upset at others retaking planets and then deleting when they knew the cause was lost, with the planets.
So yea, that's not a solution - perhaps some more ideas?
For a blocked person, I can understand. Shouldn't really be temp blocks in an hc gal, that makes sense. But blocks are account-wide, so not sure how that works. Perhaps just remove them from the gal - that could be done.
Doing that for a 'bored' person though - not sure I agree with it. If someone loses motivation during a round, then it's up to whoever is in best position to capitalise on it. I mean, it's hardcore afterall.
Having said that, it shouldn't be like how Flymzee said - that's specifically giving advantage to a specific player or so. Not sure how to stop that though. It's not new either. Plenty of hc rounds before, if people decide to 'quit' they turn to their friends and give up the planets or something.

Actually, I was the one that raised the question about Randoms.
Then Render added 3 'random' fams as a result. That was one of his options. The other option was to send the randoms to MW.
Its just for too long fams that people think are still waring are really infrawhoring and setting up on you. Would be nice to have a record of wars starting and ending other than reading about big ones in uni news
So what you really want is a sign on a Fam that says "attack me" when they're ready?
That's part of your job in a fam to figure out when and how to attack another fam.
