It's indeed a silly idea.. But it's more or less the same on the Olympics.
I remember one of our Belgian lady tennissers (I think it was Henin) having difficulties to participate there because of the conflict between the official sponsor of the Olympics and hers.
Eventually, the uproar was large enough for her sponsor to back down though.

It's rather sad Flint's homeless atm, for apparently no good reason.. At the same time (probably because of the distance between us, wich makes us nothing but a bit of text to eachother), I wonder how he feels about his laissez-faire Republicanism. He has supported it to a point where several people sought to escape the thread., Yet, his system doesn't seem to support him. Fortunatly, he's a veteran, so he hopefully might find a plce there. But isn't a government obligated to support its citizens, in whatever way it can, to the fulliest? Isn't it wrong that a man, who paid taxes for most of his life, is now left to the streets and has to hope he has a chance to 1) get a shelter for tonight, and 2) has to hope he might get in some social housing program?

Over here, we'd say it's a god damned right. He's bloody entitled to it.
I'm not sure how Flint himself feels about it, but I do think he's rather glad such programs exist, and I wonder how he feels about experiencing a "socialist program". Flint, if you're there and it's possible to reply, I'd like to know your opinion please..

PS: there's really no hint of irony in this post. There's nothing but honest concern here.

It's a silly trifle. His behaviour is poor, but he's right to be somewhat suspicious..

What's most noticable is that Flint had to point out that it was a democratic congressman. It only shows he's biased.
That's called discours analysis.. tongue

"Protesting the man."

Do tell how lying is protest? Do you protest against the census or against Obama's politic leadership?

"However, an Israeli attack on Iran would definitely do exactly that."

That's what I meant. I fear an American attack would do more or less the same though.

Iran has agreed to get its uranium enriched in Turkey a few weeks ago, no?
I'm sure that containing the threat and holding them on a tight leech is the best solution. It's only a matter of time before their government, as it is, is going down tongue

Iran's regime is falling apart from the inside out. If a war is provoked, it would only knack the movement that wants a change.
If you don't want another warzone that you can't leave cause of bombings and different factions fighting eachother, starting a war there is not the best option.

In short: I disagree with your agressive "Die Iran Die!" stance. tongue

It's not about it being true or false, it's about getting in to the situation. We don't get as much news about Obama and such than you. I'd like to know the problem/situation first, before I want to debate about it. In that situation, a biased text just doesn't cut it.
I'll keep looking though!

Flint, don't get all too emotional about this. I merely ask for a neutral source, that's all.
And a neutral source, by nature, can not be a politic opponent.

For example, Philippe de Commynes is a very good source about the Dukes of Burgundy. But he doesn't qualify as a neutral source. He should never be your first insight in research.

No, but it's unfair to the truth to use a biased text as a starting point.
It's even an unforgivable insult to the laws of historic research. tongue
