I openly recognize that many black people put race before politics, religion, romance, and sometimes even economics, insisting that there has to be a black alternative to EVERYTHING.

I recognize most white people today do not want to rally around their color.

I recognize that blacks have finally obtained equality in America, and they're finding out how shitty it is, and they're extra pissed.  I recognize the focus has shifted from "equality" to "special recognition", "awareness", and "concerted efforts".  I recognize the purpose of the black power movement is to make sure blacks get MORE than equality, that blacks are not left to make their own way like some white guy you don't know and aren't related to.

>>total of 14453 russians killed and 53753 wounded, so yeah, they killed more than 3000 russians in 1978.
rofl!<<

1978 is one year before the war started.

>>Why are we discussing this anyway? It's not like America is going to say "Look, I'm sorry, alright? I was a greedy, selfish twat and I [bleep]ed everything up, k? Now what do you want me to do about it?" not because it can't, but because the people aren't ready yet. That and America still thinks it can fix everything.<<

And the USA is to blame for the Holocaust, because we funded German reconstruction after the first world war.  Yes we did it 20 years before the Holocaust for a totally different reason, but sitting on your ass in front of a computer in a differnet country, the parallels are exact and it pisses off all the right people to say so.

Why not repeat the one aobut America being to blame for WW2.  See if we'd acted towards Hitler like Bush did to Saddam, of course the rest of Europe would have followed our example.  The average Frenchman and Brit just hoped some American would come along and tell him what to do.  Go ahead and repeat that one, it was very popular for a long time.

>>Like it or not America is going to have to sit and watch as Iran falls to crap and chaos from the inside, all the while knowing that "I did that. That's my fault."
And that will be a very sobering day indeed.<<

Internal revolt is the best case scenario, as opposed to the first World War that starts outside Europe and drags the rest of us in.  I hope we can cause such a revolt, it will solve problems and be less bloody than a general war out there.

Will Forte Leaving Saturday Night Live
By Gina DiNunno
Thu Aug 26, 9:10 AM PDT

We've seen the last of MacGruber.

Longtime Saturday Night Live cast member Will Forte will not return for the show's upcoming 36th season, his rep tells TVGuide.com.

Will Forte lands Parks and Recreation guest spot

"After eight great seasons, Will has made the decision to move on from SNL to pursue new opportunities," Forte's rep said in a statement. "He is eternally grateful to Lorne [Michaels] and all of the incredible people he worked with over the years.

Forte, who joined the sketch comedy show in 2002, is best known for his portrayal of offbeat characters, including political candidate Tim Calhoun, opposite tribute band frontman Jon Bovi, ESPN Classic commentator Greg Stink, businessman-turned-hermit The Falconer and, of course, amateur adventurer MacGruber.

SNL returns Sept. 25 at 11:30/10:30c.

Watch some of Forte's most memorable sketches and weigh in with your favorites.

>>While absurd to even suggest their actions were due to "godlessness" Is this assumption that being a believer means people are less likely to question your moral character leading us down the route where an atheist will pretend to be something they are not?<<

Hitler wasn't atheist, he was a warped Deist, thought he was the instrument of Providence

Stalin DEFINITELY acted out of godlessness, why else break the churches in Russia?

the reason we think atheists tend to be amoral isnt becasue we're ordered to think so

we know so many atheists, that is why.

many vocal atheists are making it up as they go along, like Christopher Hitchens, and they demand respect for the sacred intellectual journey

which in every context, not just religious, is totally frakin annoying.

>>You don't like the Church of Scientology either, but let them build anywhere they like, regardless of the rumours of their lies, thefts, murders, and their weak and gullible sources of funding.<<

Actually I don't like them either and say so.  Are you equating Scientology with the govt of Iran? I think I will oppose anything built with money out of the Islamic Republic.

>>So he wants people to think and talk about Islam, just like your preacher, pastor, bishop or vicar wants you, your neigbourhood, and anyone who drives past the church to think about Christianity. Is that a crime?<<

Which is it? The uproar about a harmless wubbable mosque is disgusting and barbaric, or it's the sort of thing that oughta happen in Anytown USA, and we only beef about it because we're bigots? Choose one.

>>That is tragic, but is it the City's responsibility to rebuild the Greek Church? And while I think about it; does not the "mosque building" already exist?<<

I think it more like permits won't be issued for them to do it themselves.

>>What makes you think this is a Victory shrine and not a genuine place of worship? How many muslims can the proposed mosqu cater for, and how many muslims WORK* in the area?<<

It's named after a victory shrine, on a site of terror in the name of religious extremism, by a jerk who likes controversy and blames America for offending Muslims.

Japan develops 'touchable' 3D TV technology
Aug 26 03:23 AM US/Eastern

A Japanese research team said Thursday it had developed the world's first 3D television system that allows users to touch, pinch or poke images floating in front of them.
"It is the first time that you can feel images in the air," said Norio Nakamura, senior scientist with the research team at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.

"You can have the sense of touch like poking a rubber ball or stretching a sticky rice cake" when manipulating images, he told AFP by telephone.

The technology changes the shape of three-dimensional images in response to "touches", aided by cameras that monitor how the fingers move, Nakamura said.

It is not known when the technology will be put to practical use but its creators see it being used to simulate surgical operations and in video game software allowing players to experience the sensation of holding weapons or sports equipment.

It could even use scanned images to supplement existing realities, said Nakamura.

"This technology could create a virtual museum where visitors, including vision-impaired people, can put their hands on valuable sculptures that are usually untouchable," Nakamura said.

1. a. They won't disclose the backers.
1. b. Rauf says he'll take funding from Saudi Arabia and Iran if it happens to come from Iran.  We don't like Iran.  At all.
1. c. Rauf has been quoted by Reuters, speaking overseas yesterday, that the controversy is the sort of discussion the mosque is meant to develop.
1. d. I don't feel a burden to prove somebody's future intentions.  If you're wrong and it turns out as bad as we think it will be, will you help us tear it down? Then its legit to argue about not building it in the first place.

2. 3 blocks? The building it's to be in was hit by part of the planes.  For me if they're 3 blocks, then so what.

3.  Yeah there's a Greek orthodox church that was wrecked that will not be rebuilt, says the city.  The church found that out by watching an interview on TV.
