Flint, consider this your final warning.
I edited your prior advertising post a day before this post, so you very clearly had prior notice. And here we are again.
Not only is the above post a violation of IC rules against advertising.... it's also utterly non-conductive to debate. You are putting readers in a position where to continue the conversation and fully engage you, or even to follow it, the reader has to buy your book... THEN respond to it here... which means either he posts your book in forums (arguably plagiarism depending on the size of the post) or paraphrase your book, at which point:
1: He's the one doing the work you should be doing
2: We're opening ourselves up to strawman arguments
3: Third parties who are reading without participating STILL have no idea what the hell is going on.
In short... requiring people go offline and buy an external product to even know the warrant to the argument you're articulating is clearly advertising. It's against the rules, and this latest infraction is a day after the first time it happened. You have been warned, Flint.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Write-in_ … candidates
Suffice to say, historically if there was a prominent person with a name that also happened to have won an election by write-in, it is safe to assume the prominent person with that name has been awarded the position for which that election was held. Now... if there was another person named Ted Cruz who expressed an interest in running for President at the same time and whose interest was well known... then you might have a problem.
Closed-No advertising.
Wow, it's been a while since I had to close a thread here!

This is NOT an IA round for Supernova
Military coup in Turkey ongoing. The military has blocked access to the Asia-side of the country, sent tanks and low-flying jets into the capital, and issued martial law. The president declares he is still president, and has called for the people to resist.
Spot added to each family.
To clarify, until this round there was a limit that would prevent players from gaining the morale-boosting benefits of any morale planet beyond the fifth that player controlled. For this round, that limit has been changed to 99. Feel free to hoard morale planets again!

Trust me, you don't want that!
A couple races built droids that could cross ravines. In fact, it's quite easy to code. However, when you fix too many flaws in a droid, that droid starts to realize that it is in every way, shape, and form superior to its biological counterparts and, as a result, begins undermining, and eventually rebelling against, its creators. Keeping the ravine bug in the coding reminds the droids of their fallibility, keeping them in line. At the same time, however, the ravine glitch is small enough to ensure only a relatively minor number of droids are subject to its hazards. Best for everyone, really.
Extra spot added to each family.
One more spot added. Should be at 8 spots per family.
You get an amazing prize.
Positive reinforcement!
Let me know when you're ready to receive it!
Don't worry, mods can cheat enough to make it work, considering we're talking about a non-competitive account meant solely to ensure fair gameplay.
I dunno, I actually liked the starting resources. Ridiculous scarcity of resources was sort of the whole theme of the round. Maybe it's just me, but I thought forcing people to not even have enough resources to build their home planet added quite a bit more challenge than simply saying "here's stuff, build your home planet, whatever."
I built my fleet one tick too late. That is all.
With the galaxy finished, I figure this might be an opportunity to collect some feedback.
Did you like the galaxy? Is this something you'd like to see more often? This was initially a joke galaxy idea we had, but personally, I thought it was quite fun to have a silly one-planet galaxy.
What changes would you recommend? This was somewhat cobbled together because it was a joke, but if we were to take this idea seriously, changes could be made to make the galaxy work better. If you want to see this again, suggest some changes to make the galaxy work better.
"What? Sorry, I am too busy talking to other people about my position to answer challenges to the accuracy of that exact same position."
I should probably take a moment and use this opportunity as a teaching lesson to explain to everyone why engaging in certain behavior described above can be incredibly counterproductive.
I am family 3159. I have been one of the highest producers for most of this game, and I am also the only person that's been able to put a dent in Lightguns in this galaxy. Suffice to say, I had every intention of attacking Lightguns, and Lightguns likely knew that my attack was going to be a thing.
Then 1manarmy posted. Now I am privvy to information that I would not have been able to obtain otherwise. As a result, if I were to attack Lightguns, I would be using an advantage provided to me illegally. Being a moderator, that would be horribly unethical. As a result, I have little choice but to not attack Lightguns, when the alternative would have most likely resulted in me sending my fleet blind and likely building enough bombers to do damage, but not enough to take the planet myself.
Now I can't do that. Now my 3 weeks of round is screwed up, but that's not a thing that matters. What's important for the purpose of this analysis is that you lost someone who would have done exactly what you wanted them to do had you just not said anything. You, 1manarmy, completely screwed up your own effort.
If we were talking about Saudi Arabia or Pakistan here, I'd get Wornstrum's argument. But we're not. We're talking about Turkey, a nation that has, since the Cold War, been in close relations with the West, including being a member in a democracy-dominated military alliance and strongly attempting to gain membership in an economic union of many of the same nations. This is not a country to whom the concepts of individual freedom are entirely foreign. Why is this even an issue for Turkey?
