Hmmmm, how about an inverse relationship between attack bonus and portal cost. Make portals cheaper for bankers with their negative attack bonus and more expensive for attackers with their positive bonus. Would add a layer of strategy.

Are you talking avatars or pictures within posts? Avatars still exist, under the old forums only mods could post pictures but I'm not sure if punbb can do them at all.

Then the factor of inactives will have a greater effect on monetary distribution. No matter what you do someone is going to have more and someone less.
