Don't bother with facts and statistics. It's no secret that banning guns raises crime rates. Nor is it arguable that it doesn't.

Everyone who keeps claiming it's about safety and not control is in denial, lying, or just stupid.

Amerikans fight with zero-tolerance for their soldiers getting killed. If someone fires on them from a building, they fire on that position.

I wouldn't have them fight any other way. No one who's ever seen combat would.

So cry about it. It's not your friends and family who will pay with their lives if you have your way and our soldiers are required to suicide-charge enemy positions to taze combatants to be safe.

The bottom line is, if people don't have the sense to get the [ ] away from people firing with automatic weapons, those people are risking dying.

Which warlord do you support gaining totalitarian control, Han? That's what they want. And you claim they are legitimate. Which one are you backing?

Clearly if pigs do it, Fokker, it's morally acceptable for you? What a parallel to draw.

>>If John chooses to rape her under these conditions, would it really be wrong?<<

Yes. He's the asshole who got himself in that situation because he wanted in with a group that would have him rape a woman. It may be consequentially better for him to rape her if it saves her life after traumatizing her, but the act is still horribly wrong despite your rationalization. How disgusting.

>>Rape is only wrong because society says it is is wrong, and even then only for people.<<

Thank you for this thought-out and well-explained idea which you explained so well. I can hold it against my post, which clearly claims you are wrong, and really see where you stand. </sarcasm> If you think anything is wrong because society says so, you don't think it's essentially wrong. You don't think that rape is essentially wrong. Just wow. Fokker just explained that he doesn't think rape is essentially wrong then said he'd put LSD in my water supply if I "even suggest" what he had JUST stated. What a level of discourse with you rapists.

You want Obama to be president because you're a pansy who's more comfortable with the biggest possible government to run the largest possible amount of your life.

Where I grew up, people like you were thrown off of cliffs as babies.

50 has the funniest family picture. I cheer for them.

That's our predicament.

Any direct action would have unwanted, unavoidable consequences. We REALLY don't want this.

Any indirect actions have and continue to be uneffective. They get support elsewhere, from players who don't care if Iran gets nukes and wipes Israel off the face of the earth.

So we'll continue sitting on our hands while diplomatic efforts fail continually. But Israel's existence is on the line and everyone knows it. They won't. God bless them when the time comes.

Hmmm... Metaethical Essentialism vs. Cultural Relativism. What a tough one. All the kids are relativists. But all the kids are selfish and _ignorant_. They really need educations; more now than ever. Let me think.

That girls are raped, that two boys knife a third,
Were axioms to him, who'd never heard
Of any world where promises were kept,
Or one could weep because another wept.
---W.H. Auden, The Shield of Achilles

Metaethical essentialism contends that there is some characteristic of humankind or nature that determines right from wrong; be it deontological, consequential, or some combination of both.  Ethical relativism disregards this belief in favor of ethics based entirely on private opinion (individual relativism) or the collective opinion of a given society (cultural/temporal relativism).  Ethical relativism acknowledges no absolutes; it can be strictly rigorist or often antinomian, very tolerant or entirely intolerant of acts which do not conform to a society

Where all their resources have gone is the great mystery of the round. tongue

54's custom race pop banker was their largest. But he never aided anyone, before he lost his pop or after he recovered 80% of it. Everyone the pax aided deleted or was inactive, so all resources wasted. The end for 54. tongue

Usually a pax has jumped wizards for opping anyway, so the buffed numbers there alone usually keeps them pretty safe from spells. I thought the +70% magic aided in defense, like I thought -30% hurt defense against wizard ops. You guys are sure it doesn't help/hurt defense? <==Not one for wizard ops.

Obama openly (in some circles) talks about how energy prices will skyrocket under his administration.

I don't know if he talks about it honestly anywhere, but he knows his plans for healthcare will cause prices to skyrocket there as well. He can try to control them with more regulations, but more regulations only costs the system more. If he causes some practices to stop practicing, that'll only raise prices more. Hello rationing!

The huge NW inflation of pop banking is veeeeery problematic in a fam that isn't as active as it should be. sad

I liked it when different galaxies had different set-ups and subsequent play-styles. Everyone can play thier preference if they're given just a few options, little differences in the gals that aren't there anymore.

I think that was a brilliant addition to the thread. That McCain is a moron clearly has a bearing on whether or not Biden is a moron and deals poorly with the press. They are lovers, after all.

The earth is perfect? It doesn't always make things easy.

That we are capable of surviving most of the temperature range of the earth doesn't prove that God made us perfect for it. It's the natural result of living on the earth. If human beings were not suited to live on the earth, we wouldn't. We'd all be dead like countless lifeforms before us.

If the earth was created so perfectly, why have so many creatures who lived thousands to millions of years ago died out? Wasn't the earth so perfect then? If God created the earth perfectly for human life, why did he bother with millions of years of other creatures; just to give us a little more oil? It didn't HAVE to undergo the changes and processes it has for millions-billions of years to arrive at these conditions. But it did.

Most other animals have similarly complex functions. If God is necessary for life, pointing out how perfect our imperfect world is only distracts from this position.
