1.  Unsustainable population growth is self-correcting.

2.  If you claim the question of whether we are affecting the environment for better or worse, is open ended - that is, we have to see the results to answer the question -- isn't proof of a mistaken assessment of results grounds to change the answer?  Since part of the assessment was, We are doing Bad to the Environment because we are killing arctic life like polar bears, if in fact we are not destroying the species, isn't it time to revisit the assessment?

The drink is as cool and sophisticated as the secret agent who orders it: Martini, shaken, not stirred.
James Bond has been seen ordering  his favourite aperitif in movies from Dr No onwards.
Yet suddenly it seems as if 007 has  developed a more down-market taste

It's stupid but I hope he keeps it up.  The more he beats defiance of the federal government and rejection of government as the source of moral authority into the hearts of the common people, the more impossible it becomes to impose his sort of centralized socialism.

"base needs" are already taken care of.  This is key to the whole opposition to the debate.

Health CARE is not Healthcare Insurance.

Obama changed Healthcare Insurance by denying us choice in the insurance market, ordering us all to buy somebody's insurance, and then setting up bureaucracy to limit our health care options to save money for insurers.

The recent debate on birth control is a good example.  The law authorized the Secretary of HHS to decree, by her personal order, the basic level of "preventative care" options that every insurance plan must cover.

So she decided birth control is basic "preventative care".  Which it isn't.  Then she ordered everybody in the United States to buy it for their workers.  And if they object because they are a religious foundation, she decided to ignore 1000 years of history and say that Catholic universities and hospitals are just secular places where a lot of Catholics happen to hang out by coincidence, so, no exemption.

Commie: What percentage of your tanks are operational?
Einstein: Wolfram Stormhammer, Level 10 Orc Paladin!
Commie: YOU LIE AMERICAN! Orcs can't be paladins
Einstein: This one got special dispensation for a specific mission against the drow
Commie: You must think I'm stupid, Yank, nobody would accept that kind of mutilated backstory long enough, to bring a Paladin to 10th level!!! This is not a game we play here!

hrm gonna have to look up the difference between a wight and a zombie

i think a wight is a possessed and reanimated corpse and a zombie is technically somebody killed and reanimated with limited personal autonomy.

@ Render

It's an American cable TV series of an American fantasy political intrigue series

yeah sorta like Harry Potter except more like a history of the Borgia Papacy with dragons and zombies

It's written by George RR Martin and I already thought he was great from his Arkship series in Analog 30 years ago, but that was on a much much much smaller scale

"Another revelation in the series is the real reason why the FBI swooped on Russian spy Anna Chapman in 2010. Top officials feared the glamorous Russian agent wanted to seduce one of US President Barack Obama's inner circle. Frank Figliuzzi, the FBI's head of counterintelligence, reveals how she got "closer and closer to higher and higher ranking leadership... she got close enough to disturb us".

The fear that Chapman would compromise a senior US official in a "honey trap" was a key reason for the arrest and deportation of the Russian spy ring of 10 people, of which she was a part, in 2010. "We were becoming very concerned," he says. "They were getting close enough to a sitting US cabinet member that we thought we could no longer allow this to continue." Mr Figliuzzi refuses to name the individual who was being targeted."

that's saying something from a man who attends trial setting conferences and has to pay attention

Then you're with us against them, or should be.

But instead I hear about how we're both wrong and we need to shut up to get along with you, which is kind of like fighting apartheid by refusing to get involved in racial drama

I don't want to be near them, I just don't want to waste money giving a damn what they do. You sound awfully concerned with their sexuality and drug use for someone who claims not to be into it!"

This is where libertarians seem to be off the rails.  We are being ordered by liberals to fund and endorse what other people do and teach our kids to celebrate it.  Either you oppose that coherently or you obey it.

Fffuuuuuuuu: The Internet anthropologist's field guide to "rage faces"
By Tom Connor | Published 21 days ago

Once merely obscure inside jokes on the image board 4chan, the "rage face" comics that now appear widely on the Internet have have been toughened by natural selection as they evolved into a dominant species of Internet meme. The amateur cartoons, made using a recurring set of expressive characters, are used by a growing international community. Far from being insignificant doodles, the faces are now an accepted and standardized form of online communication used to tell stories that can be quick and funny or serious and deeply personal.

Because they have become so ubiquitous, and because any surfer worth his salt should have a working knowledge of top Internet memes, we've created this Field Guide to Rage Faces. In any expedition, preparation is key; for Internet adventurers, the ability to tell a
