At this point most people are against it, as they don't know anything (gov doesn't even confirm they are there). Also its unexplainable why those bombs are made to reach for Poland and Hungary who are part of EU/NATO now. So an update has been necessary for a long time now but even that they do in secret so we didn't know we maintained useless bombs.

This way the public will be against it and I think its good to have those bombs point east when Russia threatens us again with gas or something else (given they get there).

"I thought the Belgies imported their beer from Dutchieland, no?"
Its the other way around. Belgian is known for the best beers in the world and the lack of (good) government. (although the dutchies sure do their part when it comes to the latter and export a lot of lager beer as well)

"hmm does he support their use in EUrope?"
Define "use". But I think the Belgian gov secretly made a pact idd.

To make things clear here, I'm not against a lower total of nuclear arms worldwide, but I do see the need for nuclear deterrence still. The cold war isn't over and nobody knows what future Russia will do.

But its ridiculous to deny their existence if obviously they are there. Politicians should have the balls to explain why and make the debate public. The first time Russia threatens to shut down the gaspipe again, public will vote the missiles back in.

"Regering noch minister heeft ooit beslissing over kernwapens genomen"
translation: Neither (Belgian) gov nor minister of defence has ever taken any decision about nuclear weapons ever (in the last time). Said the minister of defence...

...in reaction to the question if Belgian gov made any agreements with US to modernize their nuclear arsenal.

Well I found this so humorous I had to share it on this "international" forum.

There was a time when Govs from Europe openly criticized US for taking out strategic missiles in Europe and leaving EU vulnerable (out of the mad doctrine.)

You can be for or against but at least they should have some balls and defend their politics. It makes me shamed to be a European.

"His control over his people will rely upon him making their lives better"
you mean like the great leader of prosperous and happy North Korea kind of thing?

But I don't think he'll survive to be honest. I was reacting to Zarfs hypothesis.

"So Assad might stay in power, but he'll have to be a much more mellow Assad, particularly in the international arena."
If, and only if he survives, he will be more powerful domestically. He was weak military compared to Israel even before it started. He's creating a lot of vets if nothing else.

"They don't care about it."
They hope it will settle itself. I think the biggest portion of deaths is amongst the refugees (disease, hunger, lack of medication...) so no stats about casualties of war and coverage in the news is low. If 97% has left the country, no big mass civilian casualties will occur anymore in Syria.

Even Obama said he wasn't sure what US will do. Maybe he should ask the president?

Even Obama should realize he can't chicken out now without a show.

It is much slower for someone who knows the old system. That is why it will never happen, ironically nobody will accept it.

A second reason is the fact you make it more complicated although faster to write. Combinations of sounds are better left to as many characters as possible so kids can learn to pronounce them. Its easier to learn tsjek then ceck cause a child will also learn how to pronounce it easier after learning t, s and j.

"Well a number of people thought we could have won an atomic war in 1956, but I'm not sure that would have helped Hungary."
They would never have gone so far as to use nuclear because the country was already neutral and they knew they would loose. But in any case I wasn't judging Ike, just showing the cold war isn't over.

"If they didn't bother to do anything then the same outcome would have happened, but Germany and France would speak Russian. Until they rose up in a popular revolution in circa 1990, which may or may not have been bloody and plunged europe into a third major war, the outcome unknown."
Apart from the fact I disagree a combinated attack of Japanese and German forces, already having negotiated a truce with starving England, wouldn't have brought the USSR (without US support) to its knees...you picture the outcome as the same result: we wouldn't have a live here in Europe? Why then is he an idiot?
