"Why is it so special? Christians keep saying that you want to give it away to someone "special," because if you don't there will be serious repercussions. I don't get it."

Cause those who want it are total bastards and smallminded arseholes.

In fact, virginity was never really a problem for the christian people in the past. It was loosely applied, and when you were engaged you were allowed to have full on sex. It only became a problem in the 16th century, when syphilis was widely spreading, and slowly sexuality was turned into a taboo, with the victorian prudity in the 19th century as the climax (however).. It must be added that it was mostly in upper classes that love and sexuality was tabood, cause they had a lot to lose in a "faulty" wedding. The larger part of the people however were allowed to do whatever they want until the 19th century..

There, a brief evolution of sexuality!

No one forbids you to seek or voice a different opinion about certain issues, Soth. Economics doesn't have to be politically influenced (when I had it, it was cleaned from any political opinion).
Besides, you can't blame a teacher for having opinions, it's always yours to accept or decline them. Influence is only what you allow it to be.

They're all called Bigfoot Bill!

"Or perhaps you refer to history? We were taught a leftist version of Egypt, Babylonia, Persia, Cartage, Rome, Charlemagne, and a leftist version of Napoleon? Or is it just the bit from WW2 to now that's leftist in the course books? And please explain how it was leftist?"

Yes, I found the part where they explained how the flemish collaboration with the Germans, and how it's a logical evolution of the Flemish emancipation movement very left winged....

"Spare me your condescending comments, I'm am not some amateur historian that you can look down upon!"

You can't expect me to take Wilders, a clown who claims to be the voice of the common people, serious.

"Towards what, exactly?"

A close organised European Union (preferably a confederation).

"The EU constitution is a little thing? The EU has gradually wormed itself into every aspect of everyday life. I do not consider it a small thing and I would like it if my goverment wouldn't be so eager about letting the country be ruled by a foreign institution."

Most people vote no cause they have no idea what it's about. In my opinion, it's a good thing that in such cases the people you elected make the choices for you. And the constitution won't make your country run from a "foreign institution" (and even that is debatable).

"Properly explain so many "coincidences" please."

Coincidences aren't to be explained.
What about the discoverers of Tut-ankh-amon's tomb. They all died in suspicious circumstances, was that a plot by the dead king (who was quite powerhungry himself)?

Oh, I see. You voted Wilders...

It's not undemocratic. I don't know about you, but we have special elections for the European council who do all the work, and although I too find the constitution as it is not good enough, I do think a European constitution would be a step in the right direction....

"Blow up a, well I don't know.. soldier, railway line, arms depot, tank, helicopter, apc?

The thing is, as long as they use the tactics they are using right they won't get what they want, ever. In this case they could try diplomacy, they shouldn't expect to get a tripple A deal. They're still the losers after all."

Perhaps, but not much has been accomplished in the past (when they didn't resort to suicide bombings) and when that doesn't work, you try something far worse. Besides, most suicide bombers are people who were raised in this situation. They have nothing left to live for, wich is one of the prime recruitment reasons..

Why undemocratic? You elected people who in turn ratified the constitution, wich I think is like passing a law but on a large scale tongue

"If you saw a man getting stabbed to death right before your eyes, one would think basic human instinct would kick-in and you would try to stop the bastard, even if he does have knife.
SO WHAT IF YOU GET STABBED?
Maybe if someone had acted instead of just shitting their pants at the sight of the knife, this man might not have died!"

I think the "human instinct" would be exactly the opposite. Running away from danger is a natural impulse. It's sad, but I think not a lot could have been done about it..

"Frankly, those are acceptable loses. Besides, nothing is to stop us from "Marshall" aiding them."

If the West (America or Europe) does start a war with russia, it won't be over in a few months. What'll be left of Georgia would bevirtually nothing. Not a single Georgian is waiting for that.

"To relativise suicide and terror atacks is almost as bad as commiting said acts. You might think it's an acceptable way of resistance. I and many others do not, and judge them(palestinians) on it.
Blowing up school busses really is a back to the wall tactic, yeah."

It is, if you don't have any helicopters to fire missiles from, it is indeed a way to fight. It's a regretable thing though, you won't hear me saying that. Despite that, you can't deny that the palestinian people were forced to abandon large territories to an invading group as well who too were heavily supported by a larger force. In my opinion, it's not all that different, but the West sits at the other end of the table in this situation.

"But this discussion was started based on a situation that's happening right now. If Russia were to march to Tiblisi, would you still stick to long term diplomacy?"

It's not long term diplomacy. There are some results, and that's what matters. I'm sure it'll bring an acceptable outcome for both parties.

"And bombing the Hell out of the Russian troops in Georgia is quite possible."

Wich frankly doesn't help the Georgian people either. By bombing more of their infrastructure and ann that, you don't a country that's struggling for economic growth.

Also, on a sidenote, I think it's quite odd that everyone here is (rightly) in favour of getting into action against the Russians, while the palestinian were also invaded and are being attacked for 40 years now. No one seems to care about them anymore.. And don't give the totally irrelevant comment of "they're suicide bombers and terrorists", as it is a form of resistance, one of the only ones left for them, how despicable the acts may be..

"And in the meantime Russia tramples Georgia."

I was talking a long term solution that beats bombing the hell out of Russia (wich can't be done tongue)
I'm not saying diplomacy is working well in this case, but I'm certain it's the best possible way and defenatly the most humane in the long run..
