I predict the entire galaxy will collectively realize that IC has no meaning, and delete before EOR.

Give it another couple days!  Round will start Saturday, so we should be able to clear out inactives by Monday!  tongue

Let me know if you change your mind, we've got a nice line up, nice allies, and even nicer map position, could be a very fun round!

Your map position is totally not nicer than your allies!  X(

How can you expect an update just 12 hours after the first post... when the round hasn't even started?!?  tongue

The only problem is that The Yell hasn't figured out exactly how to snap his fingers.  smile

Because now dictators have to worry about things like securing trade routes, extended security guarantees with outside nations, and the fact that people in Western nations give a shit about preventing internal problems much more than in the 1800's?

IC3 proved too awesome for human comprehension, resulting in 2 heart attacks and 3 brain hemorrhages.  The admins responded by scrapping IC3 and putting a ton of new bugs in the game to reduce the possibility of medical damage to players.

What would happen if, theoretically, two families decided to be smart asses and dominated the galaxy, then PNAPped, sharing the hill?  The stated rules would make the game go on perpetually.

Not that that's a bad thing.  Personally, I would love to see a 10-year long round.

True, but most galaxies have the same assumption regarding the basic rules: Kill other people and take their planets.  This round has a strategic series of objectives which players must consider, largely because they run in contrast to conventional IC.

Actually, his major focus was in US technology leadership... so could we argue that I was sort of right here?

It will still require a good amount of savings, though!  We would definitely need to go through some jumps first, which would increase our net worth, requiring even more research...

True.  But the resource drain for a DS would probably cripple the global economy.  Frankly, harnessing the iron would require dismantling a significant portion of the planet.  That being said, we would have to send out more expos to other planets in the system, jump MFs on those planets, and use their iron to build the DS.
