Topic: State of the union

Can't wait to see who gets elected prom king and queen.

Not many people know this, but I own the first radio in Springfield. Not much on the air then, just Edison reciting the alphabet over and over. "A" he'd say; then "B." "C" would usually follow...

Re: State of the union

My guess: Obama's going to reveal to the world that he's a conservative that makes Rush Limbaugh look like Karl Marx.  He will then announce his new agenda for the nation, including a tax cut solely for Donald Trump, drilling for oil at the White House front lawn, funding the development of a space station modeled after the Death Star, and declaring war on the United Nations and Illinois.

lol@zarf
@ps:
thats why I always only listen to a summary in the news like:
Obama said nothing unexpected, he mentioned.... (he made the usual speech every president does)
or
one of the most remarkable moments of Obama's speech was... (revealing only one sentence is different from the usual blabla, while afterwards he claims to be misunderstood.)

Re: State of the union

I thought Phil Goff's speech was quite good, showing himself as a true contender to lead the nation, and the idea of tax cuts / no tax at the lower end of the income scale, so that everyone gets the same tax cut, was sure to be popular as it allows all people to be paying less tax.

John Key's speech today will be very interesting to see his response, esp in regards to Labour's new tax switch back to the rich...

That would be cool and stenghten american leadership.

That's how fast it takes for a guy to get whacked

Re: State of the union

True.  But the resource drain for a DS would probably cripple the global economy.  Frankly, harnessing the iron would require dismantling a significant portion of the planet.  That being said, we would have to send out more expos to other planets in the system, jump MFs on those planets, and use their iron to build the DS.

Re: State of the union

They've been researching construction so they don't need as much iron as your projecting.

Re: State of the union

It will still require a good amount of savings, though!  We would definitely need to go through some jumps first, which would increase our net worth, requiring even more research...

Re: State of the union

Actually, his major focus was in US technology leadership... so could we argue that I was sort of right here?

Re: State of the union

Sure, but america was a manufacturer and leaving that seems uneasy for a lot of people.

Re: State of the union

Is there any way a president can nowadays have a speech, be completely honest and there won't be a riot?

This forum is stupid.
