Cougar, welfare works by increasing the amount of pop that a LQ can hold.

e.g if you have 50% welfare your lqs can hold 750 pop each instead of the normal 500.

(it also allows base pop to increase but that is insignificant)

Welfare works in conjunction with LQs, It is useless without them.

The statement " can make more with welfare, than buildin' LQ's an' TO's,"
is just nonsense yikes

I remember arguing this with you years ago when you wanted bankers in our fam to not build infra but just invest in welfare, even though they didnt have any LQs :S

I thought id convinced you that was rubbish , obviously not tongue

FFS get this zodiac crap out of politics X(

We might as well discuss the tooth fairy.

You probably beleive in god too yikes

It was clearly about control of oil reserves.

- Specifically not allowing large amounts of the worlds reserves to remain in the hands of a government deemed not co-operative to American interests.

The "IRAQ oil law " passed in 2007 takes control of oil from being nationalised under iraqi government contol and passes control to foreign, e.g US companies.

Even Alan Greenspan ex chairman of the Federal reserve has publicly admitted what those in the establishment have known from the start:

Oh no - looks like someone has gone one better with a magic compression algorithm tongue

"I now know how to compress any file to 50 bytes.
The file can be of any length, and random data
compress well.

Step 1 - take your binary file, and invert every "1" bit.
Make an note in the command section to encode
the position of the original "1" bits. It is well known that
command sections never exceed about 50 bytes.

Step 2 - compress the remaining data. This is particularly
easy as it is all "0". You could just note the length.

Step 3 (optional) - if the length would take more than
about 50 bytes to represent, we can effectively compress
that too. Thus any file can be reduced to about 100 bytes.
Conceptually, we could do a third stage, but that would
only be needed if the file size was bigger than the product
of the age of the universe, and the number of known fish. "

Beat that tongue

We actually gained 70 planet(s) in total, Dance the Hempen Jig  And swab th' deck, ye scurvey dog, Ya lily livered swabbie!  Unfortunately they managed t' retake 5, ye scurvey dog.

yikes

Flint has been challenged by "Jym" on google compression groups yikes

OK. Then let's do the following bet.

******************************************
1/ The bet starts on Monday Spetember the first, 00:00 GMT.

2/ The bet pauses once you produce a program that implements HCM.

3/ The bet stops once a program implementing HCM has been checked to (for
a given n of your choice)
     * Compress every n bits strings into a strictly less than n bits string
AND * Compress two different n bits strings in two different results.

4/ While the bet run and is not paused, you give me 1 euro each day.

5/ At the time the bet stops, I give you 1,000,000 euros.

******************************************

Will he take up the challenge?

Is it possible to compress 2 random bits of data to 1 bit and be able to restore the 2 original bits without loss?

Of course not, thats plain for anyone to see.

likewise its not possible to compress all 8 bits files  of random data to 7bits .

and so on...

The counting argument is a mathematical proof, you haven't "disproved the counting argument" just because you say so.

If your magic compression method works then the fundamental rules of mathematics fall apart.

not very likely tongue

yes its a math thing.

A math thing that proves what you want is impossible.

Some comments on this from http://www.nnseek.com/e/comp.compression/

Bijective encoding is not "better than Huffman". As David Scott so
often shows, a given encoding scheme can be modified to have the
bijective property. Thus he has created bijective versions of both
Huffman and arithmetic coders. You are trying to say that the color
red is faster than a startled wombat.

Sure, you've got an idea that promises to compress data to unheard of
levels. You've posted it to comp.compression and been mocked, but what
do those chumps know? Everyone laughed at Einstein too, or something
like that.

But once you start collecting money, well, things can go sour. How do
you tell? Not always easy, but one way you can be pretty sure you've
gone over the line is the fact that you are in the police station in
handcuffs.

Cougar his question was : "if you just cf/to what would the ideal ratio be "

Your reply had nothing to do with that.

Also your reply doesnt make a whole lotta sense.

"the best (most productive banker) is a POP. but you have to stay low NW so that your wizzies can protect your pop."

How do suggest A pop banker keeps a low NW ? Pop makes NW, so theres no way to have big pop and low NW.

Editing that is just silly.

"Fighting for peace is like [freakin] for virginity" is an old quote attributed to George Carlin.

newb has misquoted it in a way that makes absolutely no sense :S

Oldbie yr wrong about that- 172 planets were involved, they had retaken 118 of them at that time, 54 left not retaken.

For CF/TO banking the max income is 75/25 CF/TO but anything 20-25% TOs is fine

For LQ/TO it depends on the price of food but generally 60/40 LQ/TO is about right.
