Topic: FCC vs. Radio
Have you heard of the fairness doctrine?
It was enacted when there was very few radio stations and tv stations. It was made so both parties (political) could air their veiwpoints
It was removed because there is a number of local stations, both radio and television all across the nation.
Democrats tried unsuccessfully (thwarted by Republicans, talk radio, and not a few dems scared to do this) to reinstate it on radio.
Radio already has NPR, often on as many as three stations in major cities and is balanced. What is not balanced is how many listen to NPR vs Conservative Talk Radio. It exceeds a 100 to 1 ratio for the right with ease. I would even hazard a guess of 1000 to 1.
The Democrats placed into the FCC started talking about local programming and community based regulators to ensure local programming.
Talk radio went on a blitz over it. The FCC was in partial retreat, waiting supposedly for our guard to go down.
However I have noticed a more insidous attack. Government ads. The blitz has been on green power practices, texting, sexting, bullys, and the likes. I remember distincly that those sort of ads are required to be played at no profit rates.
In short... they are trying to starve the revenue of talk radio.
These ads do not play on music radio, they do not play on NPR, they do not play on sports stations... or if they do they are much less in number and scope.
This diabolic plan is there to choke talk radio. Try and listen if you dare. Our government has found a hidden means, and is on the attack.
The FCC MUST FALL!
Kemp currently not being responded to until he makes CONCISE posts.
Avogardo and Noir ignored by me for life so people know why I do not respond to them. (Informational)
