I love how supposedly this bailout stabilizes Greece, and the banks buying the debt of smaller nations makes all the debt worries go magically away.
Sad thing is they used American dollars for that, the Fed authorized a trillion dollars in unsecured loans... yay world collapse!
Greece being Western? those guys are protesting because they don't want to lose their 13th and 14th months of payment.... and they want to stop working when they're 58. If they were really Western they'd have common sense and be thankful for the other countries bailing them out.
Over here some Union workers expect to retire after only 20 years of work, and get paid equal to their work for the remainder of their lives...
California state workers can get that deal sooner based on the total number of days worked. So they earn a fat paycheck, they work overtime and get time and a half, and qualify for their pension ten years early--at their last annual earnings, so they bust out the overtime in that last year. Then they get a pension and get another job too. In fact the state government has a job classification just for rehiring pensioned state employees.
California has a $20 billion / year debt.
