The only way to get more competition is that the active, experienced players with leading qualities will be put in separate families.
Make a list of the most active and experienced players and then put in EVERY family one or two of them.
That is kinda true tho.. reason why is cause u got half of IC's Active popluation in 1-3 fams a few of us had a talk abuot playing with new players but its complicated.. would be nice to see atleast 15 fams actually fighting for top 5 and contending cause nowadays top 10 is so easy and so is top 5 its 3-2-1 that are hard to get.. Mods u really should consider finding a few vets in IC who are Very active or even urselves Mods and each one attempt to lead a family
I am currently leading the bottom fam and it has been quite fun...
there are easier ways than that.
1) re-shuffle the galaxies Every round so that good players dont random into good families and stay there 3 rounds.
2) reduce the amount of drafts
3) better yet, remove drafting altogether and make it random only! VIPs already have an advantage with the special map features.
imo ever since drafting was brought in the game changed for the worse, groups the good players together and the average players together, not hard to tell who wins that one.

Want more competition? ok.. when that poll about the best online games appear, do yourself a favor and vote there, who knows, maybe someone will join up and play, more players more competition.
Want people not to be assmongers and break naps/deals ? be cowards and such ? vote a smart nap system where moderators can enforce it when needed.
Also.. people like you (DREW) need to stfu about drafting and other stuff people are not paying for vips just to see little red dots and paste them into mapgen, they get vips to playt with their friends/girlfriends/wifes/fiances in many cases X(

I played the game for 6 years and have quit for 4 years until I just recently made an account to see how the game is doing.
I dont need an easy game. In fact I couldnt give a shit since I probably wont be staying anyways. And even if I stayed, how is it that if Everyone was put into a random family id be in a bottom ranked fam? It seems thats the case now actually. If I random and a lot of families are made up of active, drafted players, whats left is the 100% random families who have average or semi-active players. Again like I said, we ALL know who wins this one. When was the last time a family with 0 drafts, actually ended in the top 3 or even top 5?
Also those stupid "poll about best online games" have been around since the game started 10 years ago, yet the competition has dwindled. Do you honestly that will make up for the shortcomings the game has? How are those people supposed to be interested in the game when they random into one crappy team after another and end up saying screw this, the game isnt worth my time. Thats nothing new, and isnt the type of idea that will improve the games population, as clearly, the opposite has happened.
New ideas are needed even if that means trying new things and see if they work or not. At this point there is not much left to lose...
One last idea, merge the galaxies into one, as im sure in PW having only 9 other families you can fight must be boring as hell. The population is so low right now I could see that doing more good than harm.

Never because the game started with randoms and it wasnt such a big deal, it then turned to 8 drafts and 20 families.
when you were playing with SinK and others and fighting Smurfs/lexics/munchers you had 8 drafts, how was it then ? Easy, you had more players, more drafts to choose from.
As i said if you wanna play random go to pinwheel, you can win there with 0 drafts, if you are lucky on the randoms.
There are some players also give damage to this games. They are always in uni news and never gone. They always have sth to say regardless of the subject. They usually post uni news in a negative attitude/tone/behviour, their post mostly consist of humiliation. They call other players idiot, moron retarded etc. These player are maket his game less attractive and kil other players motivation. Since if someone call you retarded you dont want to post msg to uni news and want tos hare your thoughts. These players hould be warned by mods since game is losing its value because of this behaviour
ya, no new players are interested because of the "elite" vets that stick around, or take breaks and come back, this game is amazing but simple marketing aspects have been neglected, the fact is, this game is made up of some of the most competitive people in the world, they fight hard, are active and dont deal with people that don't understand the game
therefore, this atmosphere, like broker said, does not invite new members, which is fine
solution?! in order to teach new players, you must increase fam size, reduce the number of families so that new players get randomed into 1 of 15 to 20 fams, in which, there will be guaranteed some vets that can run the show and direct/teach newbies to become allstars
those that care have left, those that are competitive stick around, broker makes a good point about the slander in forums
im not gonna deny im a dick or dont slander people, but it does happen and it does make newer players feel like theres no hope of gaining the confidence or experience to join a top fam

less fams and no allies equals bigger fams with more experience per family and more competition as more fams to fight eachother and alliances usually put off wars, not encourage them.
or we can continue doing the same thing year after year and then question why its all going wrong.
smaller fams r killing the game. less spots per fam equal less active players per fam. too many fams this round have 1-2 active players in, thats no fun to play in and results in loss of motivation.
at least bigger size fams are gona mean more activity per fam, so there is some incentive to log on and play!
