You know the drill!
Hi
I'm new to these forums, but have read all borg2's Flemish Lion stories.
I know Arocalex personally and would like to participate in this roleplay, as Iron Warriors chaos space marines.
Great idea of the light caste, but I should integrate the "peace" element better into the light caste, and the "war" element into the fire caste.
Maybe one of the (secret?) goals of the expedition is to find the dissapeared Belusi?
Does the expedition goes straight into Imperial territory or also into an other direction?
If the Belusii visited the Tau in the 41st millinium (present time for the other stories), it's now at the end of the millenium or the beginning of the 42nd? Since it's 8 generations...
Further, I think the link Aro meant is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tau_Empire#Tau_Language
Some character info of the Iron Warriors: .
my main character would be Captain Roderik, leader of a splinter Iron Warriors company, cut off during the last Black Crusade, and champion of both Tzeentch and Khorne.
His company is aided and granted resources by Alpha Legion which wages a covert war in Imperial Space.
The Tau would call him " Shas'El Mont'Kor " or "The Captain who delivers his Blow by Fire from the Air"
Indeed, and Lynceus the light is as i said stands for expansion to bring the light to the others.
The secret goals can be anything as we write along.
Yes it is around the 42nd millinium.
And the Tau are expanding mostly into the Imperium but are sure to meet others.
So the light caste stands for the bringing of the greater good to others, mostly by force. Because the water caste already spreads the Greater Good peacefully?
a darker thone to the Tau that I like! I think they need it too, if you see they are competing with the ruthless Imperium. As a result, the light caste follows(/leads) the expedition, sort of like the Inquisition does in the Imperium?
Indeed it is.

Except for the necrons obviously... cause they pwn
I've read the first chapters of the story and already I am starting to dislike the course it is taking. It inmediately start of with newfangled uber weapons of doom that will crush the mightiest foes within the blink of an eye.
There dozens and dozens of incredible weapons and units already present in the Warhammer 40K universe. Why not use those? The road you two are going down leads to God-mode and powerplay.
And I'd hate to see that ruin a possibly cool story!
They're not uberweapons I think.
The new guns are just so the Tau are a better match for space marines, since the normal Tau are weak against marines. This leads more to, for example 'codename panzers' gameplay than dawn of war, since a good shot will wound/kill the target, or doesn't hurt it at all.
Am I missing some of the Tau's anti-armour weapons, though?
The Tau have the raill gun, I just gave them a smaller version and less powerfull one. And indeed the Tau get massacred by the space marines around every corner. This will more or less even out the playing field.
Tau can outshoot most Space Marine Chapters. It's only in close combat that they get massacred. But fluffwise, everybody gets their butts kicked by the Space Marines, so you shouldn't feel bad about it. ![]()
I'd use creative writing, tactics and a large dose of Kroot and Vespids if you want to make a believable story. It's not hard to write a story in which the Tau beat Space Marines, if you write the conditions properly.
But if you want to make it believable, a lot of Cyan blood should flow before the final victory ![]()
"The new guns are just so the Tau are a better match for space marines, since the normal Tau are weak against marines."
1. Everyone is weak against the Marines
2. It's meant to be like that...
I think the space marnies can still wipe them out. The Mass driver is not supposed te be a super long range weapon. Its more something to use in urban combat.
Its just that the Tau could for me do extremly well in urban combat, anything but one of those
Why? Killing Space Marines is hard, it's supposed to be that way.
Biefstuk you're right
There aren't any superweapons for the Tau, but the railgun is just a downsized version of a canon they already have. And the story is situated in late 41st millenium, so they have evolved a bit, especially at the development rate of Tau.
The railgun still can't instantly kill a marine, but it is a challenge for the astartes, so they need to use improvised tactics themselves.
Isn't anyone interested in playing Marines? They really aren't sheep that get slaughtered by godlike Tau. If a would-be player wants to make some changes to the background story, go ahead!
Well the whole point in Space Marines being difficult to kill is because Humanity is stretched farther then anyone else, its usually like 10 v 1 when SMs fight the Tau... in the end the Tau usuaulyl win via numbers, giving them amazing weaponry means that either the Space marines need new guns, more numbers or will turn into sheep and be slaughtered.
I'm trying to decide what race I want to be, and how to enter.. but it shall be soon my friends
Since it's the near future, tha space marines can evolve a bit also
In melee vs Tau are they good enough, but maybe upgrade their devestator and terminator squads?
If, for example, a deathwatch killteam with all the specialist equipment joins or leads the fight, there would be hell to pay. Since I'm Chaos, the grey knights can also participate.
Would be great to have a Space Marine player join the story ;-) !!
I'm thinking about entering as Space Marines but haven't thought up a good intro ![]()
::EDIT::
The only thing making me hesitant to join as Sapce Marines is that I would be fighting two people, not to mention any one else that joined up as anything besides Space Marines or the Imperial Guard...
Then so be it... I shall join as a Space Marine shortly ![]()
Since we seem to be heading to our first battle I think Lynceus would get their first since he has full control of the warp or he could go somewhere else in the system or not at all.
or you know whatever:p

Good you've joined, mate!! :-)
Nice to have the black templars with and foremost against us!
some info on them:
The Black Templars favor close-quarters combat, drop pods and Thunderhawks for orbital insertion, and do not use Librarians because they distrust anything associated with the warp.
Since the Black Templars have no homeworld, all of their recruiting is done via the Chapter Keeps. New recruits are 'apprenticed' to a full Battle Brother (known as an Initiate), under whom they complete their training.
The Black Templars have a few unique units, including Sword Brethren who use Tactical Dreadnought armour, the Land Raider Crusader, and the Emperor's Champion
hmmm sisters of battle anyone? eldar dark eldar tyranids? those are a few of the main races to consider
Everyone is welcome to join, just make up a background story on the reason of the participation of your race!
