I agree with MrBlonde. I love our retarded legal system. Like seriously, I hear WAY too much about schools and retarded teachers these days. I also hear WAY too much about politics. Why can't we all just beat kids with sticks like the old days and have duels to determine our leaders?

Although she was found guilty and obviously did vandalize school property, she has two facts on her side: A). It was easily washable, so she could have gotten a wet paper towel and BYAH! it never happened tongue , and B). Arrest was not necessary. I see kids with Marijuana at school and all that happens is they get suspended at the most, or perhaps a citation when it happens excessively.

p.s. yes I did use BYAH! in a sentence just now.

what is the harm in sending a 12 year old to jail for a day in handcuffs? she obviously hasn't lost the ability to bitch to a TV camera, and that pays pretty well, so she can't claim loss of future earnings.  plus she got mad street cred.

i dont know, i always thought vandalism requires damage to something. if a washable marker was used, i dont think you could claim any damage was done to the desk.

didnt it say in the article? she got suspended and then went to court where she got eight hours of community service and had to write an essay.

taking a student to the principle's office for writing on a desk seems pretty reasonable to me... i think the majority of the blame goes to the police officers though..

the police officers involved are pretty stupid to decide to arrest the girl and i wonder what the school was thinking when you called the police. a warning by the teacher or a suspension from principle is more than enough.
