If you smoke you need help. There is absolutely no reason to smoke a cig, and if you think you have a good reason then you are one of those who needs help. If you drink or smoke Marijuana, that is understandable, but smoking cigarettes is a waste of money, lungs, and your life. Having the government step in is not a problem, seeing as it is the number one cause of preventable death in the USA (if not the world).

@Undeath: You're assuming every fat person is going to cost more money for people and fit people wont.

I'm not exactly a twig... or a couple of twigs... and i haven't had to go to the doctor in 5 years. One of the people i work with was a 4 time all conference lacrosse player (Ric Beardsly in case anyone knows him. He played for Syracuse and won 2 titles) who is in pretty good shape. He just had surgery because he blew his achilles out while running.

So far its +1 for me



even without medical practices they are.

fat people eat more, so fat people buy more food. fat people increase the demand for food therefore increasing the price of food therefore costing me money

Undeath your incorrect. Some truck drivers would come swinging mallets at you by claiming that.

Lack of regular excercise will result in overweight, even if people eat only two small meals a day.

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

i didnt read all comments but you  cant fix the problem with giving them a card and having them pay higher taxes.... what about genetics? High cholestorol runs in my family, is that my fault and i should pay for that? i eat fairly healthy and work out, but when i am 50 i doubt that will help me much when its genetic.
Also people are fat becuase they want good food cheap... what they end up getting is good tasting crappy food cheap...... full of MSG and other hydrogonized fats

If a lack of exercise causes you to be overweight, then why is it that I am 120 lbs and I never exercise? I'm pretty sure it's because of my diet. I was gaining weight when I went to college and ate junk food, I got to 140 lbs, but then changed my diet and took out the high sugar content and it went down to 120 again.

And the people in Minneapolis are idiots. The only good place about that city is Sex World.

So fatness is a disease or a genetic disorder?  Genetic disorder perhaps, but that's only proven if certain enzymes are building up, and that's caused by hormonal imbalance.  That is treatable.  smile And under the new Health Care plan system, maybe some people can now afford to find out if it's something as bad as that, or if it's just pure lazyness.

So now you don't have an excuse to see the doctor.
