with healthcare nationalized, i think people should have to go through a yearly check up to see what kind of shape they're in. then give everyone an id card that is swiped at the beginning of a monetary transaction similar to a debit or credit card that applies the required tax to them. someone who is obsurdly out of shape would then pay an increased tax on food items, soft drinks, etc. and other things that go toward their nastiness.

The aircraft spends more time in turnover to wait for the extra fuel; and it increases the amount of time it takes for the aircraft to reach rotation speed, which means I use more runway to takeoff, as well as using more runway to slow down upon landing.

Doing anything to try to change people in the US should be viewed as unconstitutional. It was the freedoms Americans have and the capitalist drive that led to the state we are in now. It's up to the people to change not the government.

my idea wouldnt be trying to change people. with centralized healthcare the burden of the unhealthy ways heavier on the healthy then themselves because the healthy dont need medical attention. taxing things that lead to more unhealthy people would simply be making up for that a bit
