Topic: Lawyers for Animals

Yeah it is true, there is a movement out there, including inside the Obama Administration, to give animals free lawyer services (paid by taxes of course) and to give them full rights equal to humans.

In Europe a law has been passed... on this... amazingly...

I want to sue on behalf of a Bald Eagle that is upset at being hunted by Obama... see, those squawks are it's testimony. It clearly shows Obama is hunting an endangered species, and something with human rights now!

I demand satisfaction for my client (and payment of my retainer fees, about 75% of what we expect to garner).

I also want to know, who will be the neutral translator?

Everything bad in the economy is now Obama's fault. Every job lost, all the debt, all the lost retirement funds. All Obama. Are you happy now? We all get to blame Obama!

Re: Lawyers for Animals

I dunno... not as much a laughing matter as you would think.  It honestly depends on the laws that would otherwise exist in regard to legal standing.  For example, if an animal rights organization in the US thinks an animal is being wrongly hunted, there is some standing for them to defend the animal (endangered species, local hunting laws, etc).

I would like to know more about the specific legal situation that brought this to being...

Re: Lawyers for Animals

Here in Texas there are some pretty harsh animal cruelty laws in place already. I know in terms of police dogs if you shoot one it's the same as shooting a human officer, and your ass is getting the maximum penalty for that. I see it as this. If people are allowed to be cruel to animals how much will it take to have that same person try the same thing with humans?

I would be cautious to sensationalise a news story, or misinterpret an idea's intent.

Re: Lawyers for Animals

The thing is not about animal cruelty, it's about apply ALL human laws to animals...

So in theory, if an animal can pass a background check, it should not be prohibited from getting a hunting rifle...

extreme sounding, but this is the sort of weird crap these people are putting out.

Animal cruelty laws exist in almost all modern nations... and many lesser nations also.

This is a movement to fully equate animals to humans. You cannot eat a cow, because to eat it requires you to kill it... even if humanely...

Re: Lawyers for Animals

I saw a story where a guys dog got a better credit score than he did.  Heck if a dog can apply and get a credit card, just how messed up have things gotten to already.  Animal rights?  The right to bear teeth.  tongue thpppt.

Re: Lawyers for Animals

You know, I'm all about killing people who do bad things to pets, but I mean, animals do not have rights technically speaking. If you want to be technical, we can look at this in the human way. Slaves did not have rights except for that which their owners gave to them. Blacks had limited rights (as did Women) in the early to mid 1900's. Took the civil rights movement for them to get rights. They had to GAIN rights technically speaking because others didn't "give" them rights. You don't have rights until someone gives you those rights. Once someone gives you rights, then you have rights. Animals only have the rights people give to them. Notice animals are abused but do little about it while humans are all, DON'T ABUSE ANIMALS BLAH BLAH BLAH. Yeah.
