They got into voter registration in a big way, and they were beloved of teh Democrat party because they hired locals to gather signatures and register to vote

but they got nailed telling people to bring in 5 signatures an hour or not get paid... So "Queen Victoria" and "Batman" were registered.

nobody cared, Obama won, ACORN was touted as a great community organization, they got $33 million from teh stimulus to hire people to help with rent and taxes, and they were gonna recruit workers all over for the Census...

then this nerd and this hot looking chick dressed up like pimp and whore and took undercover videos where they go into ACORN offices and ask staff to help them run a prostitution ring of underage immigrants, and the staff in city after city helps them out

Congress yanked all future funding for ACORN

and now this...state by state...RICO lets citizens sue other citizens for rights violations and demand punitive damages = 10x the actual damages...it's been used mainly against pro-life demonstrators

They're splitting up and keeping as much of the organization alive and functioning as they can. New names also keep them fresh for the next PR nightmare they'll inevitably create.

Personally, if you shame me publicly, I would simply tell the people, "Hey, I'm human. Don't expect me to be perfect. I make mistakes just like the rest of you. My question to all of you is, why are people digging up dirt about me? To kick me out? to shame me? So what if I do something others don't like, it happens. It's part of politics, someone is bound to dislike something I do. Besides, if the people who brought this to light thinks this make me unfit for duty, then you're wrong. Personal problems and work stay separate. I focus on the job while working and personal things while off. Please leave my personal life alone.
