Some basics to work out how construction bonus is applied. This way can also be done to work out military, resoruce, income and welfare, no problem!

You want to work out how much things will cost you with your construction bonus?

Easy way to do it is to divide the price by 1. (rc bonus). So with 16% con, you divide prices by 1.16. With 77% con, you divide prices by 1.77

20% = 120gc / 1.2 = 100gc

40% = 120gc / 1.4 = 85.7gc

60% = 120gc / 1.6 = 75gc

80% = 120gc / 1.8 = 66.6gc

99% = 120gc/ 1.99 = 60.3gc

It soon gets real expensive for less and less benefit, roughly around 60% you have to question whether or not it is worth putting more research in a particular field or to move to another field. For example, you may wish to combine construction and military!

Researching two different fields to 20% is cheaper than one to 40% (Off the top off my head, I think it may be about 1/6th more rcp required to get one field to 40% then two fields to 20% each).

Its also more effective to kill scientists on guys with smaller %. Trying to kill or terminate scientists on someone with over 80% research is pretty difficult and you won't reduce his % by much at all. Whereas doing it to someone with 40% or below is much more effective!

I don't quite follow the part about killing science. If a person has an 80% bonus that means he's got at least twice as many RPs in the field as someone with 40%. So when you kill 3% of his RPs it would be at least twice as much as the 40% person for RPs killed.

So i just checked to see what the loss would be. i checked 3% loss for my 83% econ bonus and 3% loss for my 37% Welfare. I lose 3.8 times as many RPs with the Econ compared to the Welfare

i think what he's saying is that even though you lose a greater amount of RP's on 80 sci, the jump from 79->80 is very large (exponentially larger than the jump from 39->40) so when you kill science on someone with less rcp you're more likely to drop their overall research % down more than if you were opping someone with 80%

i'm not sure if this is actually true or not, i haven't dont any math tongue

yeah you do lose more RP's but do you actually lose any % bonus?

90% con, go see how much a solider costs. Still says 1 endo right, lol. So ur way fails tongue The game always estimates inaccurate costs.


As for the part aboutr killing science, this was an old post so im trying to remember lol! Im pretty sure its what thirdrock says, I must of worked it out if I was to post it surely? tongue

I'll mayb try and work it out later to confirm this.
